It has ups and downs, and you seem to have pinned it right. I noticed this thing where people post more during the times when being outside is hazardous to their geek-white skin. Also usually has to do with breaks from school, seeing as people who just work tend to stick around the forums all year long. I'll go ahead and include the jobless, too. Go figure.
