    Default A quick Question

Ok. If this is in the wrong thread, I apologize ahead of time.

I downloaded a bittorrent (final fantasy ix) earlier today, and burnt it to a disc. It loads up to the main screen (only if I open the disc during the opening scene), but after clicking on 'new' it goes to a black screen, and does nothing else.

    What can i do?

With what--mod chip or swap trick?

And what did you use to burn it?

    That's alright.

What app did you burn it with?

People recommend Alcohol for burning because it can handle most formats--here's a burning guide.

You should also burn using the lowest speed that your burner will allow.

Oh...I used CloneCd to burn it.

    I burnt it a x4...although it could've went to x1...
I've heard alot of anti-alcohol things, and alot of pro-clonecd...

My first attempt was pretty much a waste of my life...since I used nero, and tried making a data disk...

(i'm new to this burning thing. Normally i just emulate...)

Try playing the burned disc in an emulator just to see if it works.

Have you tried cleaning the laser lens with a CD Cleaner?
Or maybe the image was faulty. You haven't really done anything wrong, and aren't using bad media. SegNin, explain CDmage :p

The FF9 torrent from here works or we'd get an assload of complaints about it.
So, CDMage isn't going to help.

Here's where you can find pSX Emulator (yes, that's its official name):

    edit--
Wait, did you get the torrent from here or somewhere else?

You can give ePSXe a try: http://epsxe.com/download.php
    Files you'll need:
    Video plugin: http://www.pbernert.com/html/gpu.htm
    Sound plugin: http://ngemu.com/psx/plugins.php?cat...win32&type=spu
    CDR plugin: http://www.pbernert.com/html/cdr.htm
    BIOS: http://www.emuparadise.org/biosfiles...s_SCPH1001.zip

The PAL version of FF IX was protected, if I recall correctly, you'd need to patch the image file before burning it: http://www.megagames.com/psx/psx_patches_f.shtml
    is yours the pal version?

I have no idea, to be honest. I got the FFIX off this site. I don't know much beyond it.
