I'd always found FFVIII hard. Couldn't get to grips with the junction system, but then I did it. Completed it.

I presumed C64 and arcade version are the same, it's very hard for arcade. I used to play it on C64 as a young kid, and just tried it with mame recently.

I've heard the same thing, and what is interesting is that the PS3 version is going to have an even harder setting.

How can you presume something you have tried?

Jet Set Willy - ZX Spectrum. The original game was impossible to finish...(Attic Bug)...Fortunately a poke was released allowing the game to be finished.

    Still never managed it.

Well, I heard it otherwise, that they are gonna make it a little bit easier or was it for the DS version...am confused

Gyruss for the NES. Here's a little description for you if you don't remember...

The entire solar system is being attacked by the vicious Gyrusians, and it's up to you to save the day! You will need to fly your spaceship to each of the nine planets and then clear three stages of enemies to rid that planet of the Gyrusians. You start the game with a single canon, and can gain a double canon after shooting a power up satelite. After clearing each planet, there is another bonus stage where additional weapons and bonus points can be collected. Gyruss is an arcade action shooter, however instead of piloting your spaceship horizontally or vertically, you move in a circle around the perimeter of the screen. The NES version of Gyruss adds to the original arcade version additional music, additional weapons, new enemies, and a large boss at the end of each level.
I played that game for like at least 50 to 60 times each time NONSTOP for at least FOUR HOURS but was never able to go past Planet Earth although I once did but had so limited lives that I never got beyond stage 2 on Planet Venus

So...for me, Super Soukuban, a japanese SNES game where you had to move boxes into points, then, again, it was asia only, so it's a normal setting to those frea...people, I mean who have no problem completing like 900 puzzles.

Also I'm finding X-2 as one of the hardest FF's I have played, of course, I got badly beaten by the Weapons in VII, I had bad times with the Omega Weapon of VIII (though I haven't finished that game) and Seymour at the mountain was way hard for me...but in all those games, I haven't needed to restart like for five times, the bosses are insanely hard. Of course, this is my opinion, so I'm ready to take all your bad reps....now.

My dad can go through that game multiple times on one quarter. He played it on his wedding night. He draws a crowd. Kinda like me with my arcade/light gun shooters. He raised me on arcade games
