Default Roms that don't work on psx

I use the swap trick to play roms that I downloaded on my original grey ps1 but I noticed certain roms don't work no matter how many different versions from different sites I download so I thought I might as well put a list of the ones that haven't worked for me. Feel free to add on.

    Roms that have worked:
    - Silent Hill
    - final fantasy 7
    - diablo
    - einhander
    - parappa
    - metal gear solid

    Roms that haven't worked:
    - Castlevania Symphony of the Night
    - Resident Evil 3: Nemesis
    - Harvest Moon: Back to Nature (Maybe it was just me but the save doesn't work, the actual game is fine though)

So Most games worked but Castlevania and RE3 didn't work...which sucks cause I wanted to try those..Harvest Moon seemed pretty boring anyway so idc.

This is All for NTSC Playstation not PAL or emulator.

What method did you use to burn the working ones and non-working ones? By the way, if they're games that are on discs, they're disc images, or ISO's.

Where did you download Castlevania and RE3?

I use Alcohol 120% to burn onto cd and it works great. If I need the .cue .bin, I use IsoBuster which is also an awesome program. I downloaded Castlevania and RE3 from here and from snesorama.us

I just made this thread to see if anyone else has problems playing these games or other roms on playstation using the swap trick, no modding. The swap trick is show here if you don't know what I'm talking about:
    http://www.epforums.org/psx-swap-tri...824/index.html

I do it a little differently but its basically the same and it seems to work for most roms but certain games don't work, I'm pretty sure its not the method thats wrong but the actual games. I've downloaded from different sites just to make sure.

Hm. Did you use the Playstation settings? Lowest burn speed?

Castlevania SoTN & RE 3 are 2 of the most popular PSX games.

If the swap trick didn't work with them, then I'd think that would be common knowledge.

I believe you need to have an original PSX game with a bigger TOC then the game your trying to swap (in this case, Castlevania SoTN & RE 3)

So, what game are you using as your original?

Hmm that makes sense. Well first to answer Michael, yep of course playstation setting and 4x burn speed which is lowest, sometimes I do 8x it still works no problem.

And SegNin, I didn't really think about that, I use Crash Bash for the swap trick and I've used Syphon Filter 3 which is a pretty big game. Not sure what you mean by TOC.

    TOC = Table of Contents.

Zorlon once gave a link to a small app that could read and save the TOC of a CD, but I can't find it now.

If he drops by and sees this, maybe he can share that link again.

Alright so to add another rom that doesnt work with swap trick: Soul Reaver: Legacy of Kain. It worked on my psxfin emulator however.

Also to update on what I've tried. I don't know what you mean by table of contents so I tried the swap trick using various legit psx cds but castlevania doesn't work with any of them.

The cds I've tried with are:
    - final fantasy 8 disc 1
    - syphon filter 3
    - crash team racing
    - gran turismo
    - crashbash

is there anyone who was able to play castlevania: sotn on playstation via swaptrick no modding?

Well, if you decide to buy a Breaker Pro, it only costs about $20:
