You need to buy a VGA box. Here's what I'm talking about:

After that, you just output to a monitor
I have never tried it, but i suppose it's the same as connecting any console to the monitor.
Try googling PS2 VGA adapter...
Edit: Damn for an oldie Sprung you sure shuffle around quick.
Lol. well Sprung knows. but that still made me lol.
Thanx. Sprung. From the picture of the box you linked me too, I see how its works. I visualized it. That is exactly what I was looking for.
How much does one of these things cost?
I found this on another forums. Just how shitty is this method of playing PS2?
The only good VGA adapter that you can use with the PS2 is the Vdigi VD-Z3. It lets you use progressive scan and HD sources on your monitor, in true HD resolution. Unfortunately, you'd only be able to use PS2 games that support Progressive Scan on it, since it doesn't support 480i. But, the alternative is a crappy scan doubler that would look like crap, you can get those anywhere and I wouldn't pay more than $30-$40 for one, with shipping included.
Its pretty shit, since no games actually support VGA, and as such you arent really getting true VGA out of it (like, say, the Dreamcast or 360). There is one VGA cable that came with the linux kit, but thats more trouble then its worth really.
So I 've read elsewhere now that I actually got serious about doing this and did some seriosu research. This whole idea seems to be waste of my time.
I got a VGA box off eBay for $35, and I don't think the quality is crap at all. The one I have has connections for Composite, S-Video AND Component output so all the bases are covered and I get great picture quality with it. Sure, it's probably nowhere near as good as playing on a HD (LCD) set, but it's about the same as playing on a decent quality flat-screen tv
Sure can, Ktiger...I'm only using an old hp p920 20-inch flat-screen monitor as of now, but I'll still continue to use the VGA Box when I eventually upgrade to an LCD monitor.
