    Default PS2 disc read problem

    I have 5 games 4 work perfectly.
But one makes loud noises and won't play but when I dismantled my PS2 and took out that plastic thing that holds the cd/dvd down and held the disc down wityh a q-tip it played.
It has a few scratches on it but nothing that should cause it not to play. Also I tried a brand new Bon Jovi Cd with no scrathes on it. it did the same thing but played when I did that q-tip trick.
But all my other games and CDS play just fine on it
would anyone know whats causing that and how to repair it.

Well it works just fine on all of my games now.
Burned audio Cds and some regular audio cds still do this though. The game that did that, I took back to the store and got another one of.
But what I figured out is if i put a bandaid on a cd that does that so that it covers the center hole of the cd half way it plays just fine. It has something to do with that plastic deal that magnetically holds the cd in place. But cleaning it probably couldn't hurt.
