    Default Pokemon Emerald question... Again....

Ok, I'll just ask the question:
I have downloaded that vba_over.something or w/e you call that. and I have did the save type to 64. But while I was playing I noticed it never becomes dark. So I searched a couple of topics here and found out that emerald doesn't have night or day, which I thought is IMO retarded. But anyway, I also read some more and to my understanding, if you save your game, AFTER, of course the rest of the saves have being deleted, you sorta screw the game up. So thats my question: Can I SAVE my game at all??
And another thing, that might be related. The dry battery message hasn't appeared, but still time isn't moving. I checked the time for a sec and saw it was 6:30. So I go outside, I walk walk walk walk, while speeding with that CPU speed button, I go back to check the time, still 6:30. So..... Why is that??
Please help, I want to love this game =(.

To save, you could use save states.

Will that fix my problem though?

It will help with the save problem (because it's not actually saving in-game, it's the emulator saving the information of what you were doing at the time, when you load the state that you saved, you will be right back where you were when you saved). the rest I don't know about.

Options > Emulator > Real Time Clock.

Try that to fix your clock problem.

And if you use save states only, won't that be a problem when you reach the Final Four trainers? (whatever they're called)

Because don't you need an in-game save to advance beyond that point in the game?

aAsking, because I haven't played any of the GBA pokemons yet

You have to save in-game in order to continue playing after you beat the Elite Four because the game resets and has you load your in-game save at that point.

In order for the vba-over.ini file setting to work you have to delete your old save file and start over. Do not use any save stats made prior to adding the vba-over.ini file as that will corrupt the save file all over again.

    [EDIT]
If you are having trouble finding the save (.sav) file try looking in the same directory as the rom itself.
