CF to GBA Black Screen

i bought it awhile ago 2nd hand. it worked for awhile.

now that my pc died i tried to re dl the soft ware.

the software i used i don't remember what it was, or what version. i think this is like the 3rd different version i used, i even tried the newest one with the newest firm ware.

im using "super card v.255c for compact flash" all i get when i try to select a game to play is "*bytes loaded*/*total bytes*" but once it totally loads if goes black. no game. i bought a new cf card but no avail.

sometimes it freezes before it even totally loads.

i have 5 cf cards.
3x sandisc/32mb
1x sandisc/512mb (i bought it b/c i thought the others busted)
1x generic/256mb

holding L/R gives me this...

should i try the one's for Ds or is there anything else i can try? it was a used one sprung sold me. should there be a life expectancy?
