    Download vba-over.ini from here:

Unzip it and put the .ini file in the same folder where you have the VBA emulator. If you're asked if you want to overwrite a file that's already in there, choose YES.

Go into the rom folder and delete every Tactics Ogre file with these extensions:
    .sav & .sgm.

Now start VBA & load the Tactics Ogre rom to begin playing it.

First chance you get in the game, try making a "real" save to see if it works.
well, it still doesnt work.. is there any other way? thanks for the help guys..

This is strange. I was able to save just using the default settings. I have a vba-over.ini file but Tactic Ogre is not in it. Check the "Save Type" setting and make sure it is set to "Automatic". The setting is in Options->Emulator.

Also, are you using a BIOS file with VBA?

yes, i use a BIOS file.. and it is set to Automatic.. plus i have some settings for Game Overrides:

    real time clock: enabled
    save type: automatic
    flash size: 1024k
    mirroring: default

maybe i should get another BIOS file?

Try removing vba-over.ini, then delete every Tactics Ogre file with these extensions:
    .sav & .sgm.

Now start VBA & try saving.

    It should work.
I just d/l the game from EP, and tested it with VBA 1.8.0 Beta 3.
    And the save works.

Didn't need a bios file, or vba-over.ini or anything, just the default settings.

It might be best if you deleted your vba.ini file as well to reset VBA to it's default settings and see if that works too.
