Help! I dont know what im doing!
Okay, i'm completely new to psx emulating and i have a few questions on how to get an iso to work. I have downloaded all 8 files for the first disk of Xenogears and have no idea what to do next. My emulator is ePSXe by the way.
1. Why are the files all RAR files? When i go to "run iso" it say the file has to be .bin, .iso, or .img.
2. Why are there 8 files? Am i supposed to combine them somehow?
3. How do i make it work???
4. Is there something i should have read that explains all this?

1. RAR format is a common compression tool... You need to uncompress them to get them into the .bin, .iso, or .img file that ePSXe can read... I personally use "WinRAR" to do this, but there are other programs that'll do the job...
2. What you have is called a "Split Archive", it's basically the ISO data, separated into 8 different files... Loading one and decompressing it will turn it into the desired file...
3. Get a program that can read and decompress .RAR files, open a piece of the ISO, and extract it... That should combine the parts into the whole data file which you can load into ePSXe...
4. There probably is, I just wouldn't know where to find it...

wow this is frustrating. i have followed the instructions for extracting the split archive but i still get following error messages from winrar:
"filename": CRC failed in the encrypted file "filename"(wrong password?)
"filename": No files to extract
The password isnt wrong and in any case how can the password be wrong if there arent any files(there are by the way)?

One of the parts may not have downloaded properly. Check if all of them (except the last) are the same size.

okay its no longer saying they dont exist but it is saying wrong password. and yes all files are the same size except the last one. i got the rar files from this site. i copied the password on the download page. it was emuparadise.org

ive been copy/pasting the passwords the whole time, and it only asked for a password when i try to extract it. Files by emuparadise.org didnt work either.
