    Default No$GBA's Nintendo DS Emulation

I have recently downloaded the latest version of No$GBA to test out their NDS emulation and I must say that I am very impressed. This is the first time that have seen 3D in any NDS emulator. Check our the screen shot I took shortly after starting Super Mario 64 DS:

Graphics are still a bit glitchy and the speed drops a bit at times and the sound is very scratchy but the progress is amazing.

Really? How is the sound emulation? I wondering why that seems to be a problem when they have controls, touch screen, saves, 3D, ect...but not sound. I guess it might be due to the encryption on the cartiages and in the DS itself.

    [EDIT]
I'll get a copy of FFIII and see if it works with No$GBA now.

Desmume has full sound and working save states. I keep up-to-date with the project by looking here for the latest builds:

The last time I tried it AW: DS had a black screen after the title. Does anyone know if this is solved?

I tried it on No$GBA and the opening FMV is nice (didn't even know that the NDS could do that). The game runs very slow and it seems to stall shortly after starting a new game. I'm going to get another NDS emulator and see if maybe it will work with them instead.

    [EDIT]
DeSmuME both impresses and disappoints me. I know it's only a WIP version but I still expected more. For one there is no gamepad support and second it ran FFIII worse then No$GBA did except for the fact that the sound emulation was better.

Not at that quality it couldn't but then again you have a point. I'm just not use to cartriage based games having FMVs I guess.

I have some more screenshots to show off. This should show just how much better No$GBA's 3D emulation is then DeSmuME.

This is what it shows in DeSmuME:

So.. yeah. There are still no game that have been deemed actually playable with any emulator, right?

I don't know you, you're not my friend.

    I'm full of good ideas..

I bet if I tried I could actually play Super Mario 64 DS in No$GBA even with all the glitches. The screenshot in my first post is after you catch the rabbit to get the key to unlock the front door to the castle so yeah I did play some before I decided to take a screenshot and post it here.

With DeSmuME I have to guess where the touchscreen stuff is in order to "touch" it. Only 2D items show up on the touchscreen in that emulator.

    [EDIT]
I'm mostly using Super Mario 64 DS to test because it is one of the few DS games that I actually own.

Wow No$GBA actually plays DS? Man, I thought that was a hoax way back when i first heard it. Guess not. Hmm well keep us up to date Haldrie.

I really should dl No$GBA anyhow, b/c I want my golden sun stuff/items to carry over to Golden sun 2 which is the second half (Last 2 towers) of the game. I honestly don't know why they did that as game developers; outside of the fact to get more money, but its not like I paid for the games ayway.
