Default Play PS2 games that are on external HD

I remember there was some sort of cable needed for this. I have a PAL PS2 (the big type) and NTSC PS2 games on my external HD. Which cable was it that was needed to link my PS2 with the external HD? How was it called?
I'm going to the shop to buy it in a few hours, but I forgot how it was called.
    Can anyone help?

What you need is the ps2 network adapter and the hdd in the ps2 expansion bay, plus the hdloader/hd advance program.

    This network adaptor:

You hook the hdd to it and the hdd goes inside your original model ps2. As you see it goes in the ps2 expansion bay.
That's the way to use a HDD with your ps2 I'm aware of :/

Hmm, and how much would that thing cost?

Anyway, I asked about this some time ago (before the forum crash), just because I was curious, and as I remember it you needed an external HDD, that hdloader, and some kinda cable (this cable also converted NTSC -> PAL). Noone knows what cable I'm talking about?

And would this network adaptor convert NTSC -> PAL?
The games I got are NTSC, but my PS2 is PAL...

Before you start spending money, let me tell you that there's extremely many PS2 games that do not work - as in not at all - with HDloader/USB extreme. I do not recommend those at all.

The cable you talk about is the rgb scart, but it will hook your console with your tv, has nothing to do with the HDD. It will display the ntsc games correctly in your pal tv, as long as it accepts the ntsc signal, regardless you run ntsc games in your hdd or burned, ntsc games in a modded console or through Swap Magic.

There are compatibility lists for hdloader/advance, do a search on google.

So I would need that RGB scart aswell?

And how much would this Network adaptor cost? There isn't any way I could load games for my HDD without this network adaptor?

Uh? Damn lol, all you guys speaking chinese for me
Taking that HDD out of USB enclosure? What you mean by that?

And I found this compatibility list, and for some games it said Mode1, 2 or 3 is needed. What are these modes?

The RGB scart will make the ntsc games to be displayed correctly in your PAL tv.
Now, there are different ways to run backups in your console: a modchip, the Swap Magic discs or the network adapter plus a HDD. You need any of those to run ntsc backups.
The network adapter is arround 49 € here.
And finally, these are the HDD compatible with the PS2 for this purpose:
