The latest version of popstation GUI doesn't need those files but PSX2PSP does need those files (yes, they go in the file folder)
edit: you also may want to try out IceTea v1.3, I've heard some good things about but I haven't tried it out myself.

great. i have put the eboot in the game file, it plays the game until the playstation logo comes up, after that fades the screen just stays black and nothing else happens, does this happen to anyone else?

Do you have the keys.bin in the same folder? Try to remove it if you do. I think that 3.03OE-C does not require the keys.
I found a good guide...http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=72601

I have just upgraded to 3.10 OE-A, does this still apply to this firmware, don't forget that this is custom firmware so there is no reason why it shouldn't work.
Oh, by the way Abe's Exoddus works fine, i will try and convert final fantasy 8 again.
What about the patches on the popstation GUI, do need to use any of them?

All my ps1 games work besides FF8, that is so annoying, and that is my best game.

it works right up to the part where the playstation logo comes up, when that fades, nothing else happens the screen just stays black.

Sorry this is somewhat off topic, but how much space does this take up on the memory stick?(sorry if you think I am completely retarded for asking)
