They're very good indeed. I don't listen to a lot of American/European music, but Machinae are great. I love their music. I've got their two latest albums in originals I think my favorite songs from Machinae are Earthbound, Killer Instinct and Hubnester Inferno. Their music for the JETS 'N GUNS game is wonderful too! God, it's been months since I last listened to them

    Yann Tiersen

    http://www.yanntiersen.com

If you're into modern classical music, you can't go wrong with Yann Tiersen. He's composed some of the best music I've ever heard.

And on the metal side, try out Lux Occulta.

http://www.myspace.com/luxocculta (Gotta link to their MySpace, since their official site hasn't been updated since 2001).

Just plain awesome. "Kiss My Sword" is totally their best song ever.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3__zTuvDRpY <== "Kiss My Sword" video.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, their guitarist and bassist are also in Decapitated.

Woo, another fan! I own both of their CDs as well, and it was definately worth the cost of importing them. I think my current favorites are Elie, Ronin, and Blind Dog Pride, but it's so hard to choose when they have so many fantastic songs.

    Reel Big Fish (USA)

Okay, it's really hard to place a genre on these guys. Their music can range anywhere from reggae, to alternative, to ska, even to rock or punk(I really don't know the difference between the two).
Note:Their album that has the most rock-ish qualities would have to be "We're Not Happy 'Til You're Not Happy."

Song Recommendation: Beer. It's just a great song.

    Seriously, they're awesome.

I've always referred to them as pop-ska, incase anyone was wondering about me.

They've made a few cool album, aswell as a couple of not-very-cool-at-all ones. Everything sucks was either good or bad, I don't really remember but I'm guessing the latter. Damn, I'm a great poster.

Edit: Oh, and the Vandals. A kickass punk (as in old-school punk) band from '80-85 or so and a kickass pop/revival/whatever-punk band since then (Okay, they didn't go pop-punk as soon as their old vocalist quit but.. eh, shut up).

Favourite albums: Peace thru Vandalism/When in Rome do as the Vandals (comp, first album along with their first EP) and Hitler bad, Vandals good. Watch out for their country album though, (Slippery when ill/the Vandals play really bad original country tunes (re-release), IIRC) it's not funny enough to be anything other than horrible.

    NAO!

Make it like that famous country singer
Or that guy I saw last night on Jerry Springer
Clean me up but let me keep my edge,
In the day I like to keep it dignified
But at night you know I got another side
    And I don't give a damn, cause I am what I am
Even if it's really really bad
I've got an Ape Drape, yes I do
They're givin' em to anyone, and that means you
You can drive to Riverside and get one too
And then you'll have an Ape Drape like I do
Go ahead and buzz it 'round the ears
I've been growin' that one braid back there for years
I've had it since the first time I saw Queensryche
The front may conform to society
But the back says I have personality
Even if it's really really, even if it's really really bad
Make it short in front and long in back!
If the top's not short enough that it stands up
I could be thrown out of the Bad Boy Club
But don't you lay a finger on my pony tail
Now fix my kid so he looks just like me,
And then matching crazy pants are all we need
Some may call it child abuse I just call it bonding with your Dad.

Yes, Randy is a great band aswell.

Edit: .. I was going to write a mega-awesome rep post for cosmic but I accidently hit enter after writing "I"..
