Default Argh, yet ANOTHER FF9 problem.

OK, when I open the .bin file to run the game, it acts like it isn't responding, then it shows the opening FMV and plays the music, but when I hit the button assigned to "start" to skip it, it just turns to a blank black screen. The music still plays, but it doesn't show the "Continue / New Game" screen.

EDIT: This happens on both versions I have

    Are you using ePSXe 1.6.0?
If you are downgrade to 1.5.2
Or even better use PSXFin. It's a LOT easier to use and runs FF games easily.

It doesn't seem to be downloading when I open the webpage, but firefox says it is "Done" at the bottom of my browser. There is probably a very obvious solution that I am overlooking,

Eh. Try loading the page again. You should be asked for the 3 digit security code, then it'll allow you to download.#
Eh. If that don't work try another internet browser, like IE or Operah Winfrie.
Eh. If that don't work, I'm sure you'll be able to get it elsewhere.

Yeah, there was. I wasn't entering the code to move on that it was asking me to at the top of the screen.

    Thanks again

"This application has failed to start because d3dx9_26.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this."

When I tried to run the EXE

Welcome. I find PSXfin's a lot better because you DON'T have to spend HOURS configuring it to get it right, more or less plug and play.

OK, I have the DLL in System32 and when I open PSXFin, it asks what Language I want and I choose english, then I click "ok" and it says: "Failed to Initialize D3D" then it asks me if I want a crash text dump.

honestly a much easier way is to get ePSXe 1.5.2 and get a BioS (SCPH1001 i believe) and just do the wizard config. then go into video config, set it to "nice" (you'll see it at the lower left corner of the config screen) then mark the special fix for FF9 in the special fixes section (also conveniently placed in the config screen) and you'll play fine. i've never used PSXFin so i can't help with that, it sounds like a pain in the ass.

Guess there's something wrong with the one I've uploaded, I'll get you the link from the proper site.

    http://psxemulator.gazaxian.com/

http://psxemulator.gazaxian.com/pSX_1_10.rar Download, place the BIOS into the BIOS folder, then it *SHOULD* work.
