    Default Final Fantasy VII problem

Okay, I have a problem running FF7 through the ePSXe emulator. It runs yes, but only for a bit. It'll get to the "Sony Computer Entertainment Presents" screen, flicker, and freeze. It has never gotten past that screen.

Here's some information about what I'm running, I'm hoping someone can give me advice on what to do:
the ISO is in .img .sub and .ccd form
    ePSXe v.1.6.0.
    Video Plugin: Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.1.76
GFX card: Trident Video Accelerator Blade 3D/ProMedia

    Resolution/Color:
    - 800x600 Fullscreen - [16 Bit]

    Textures:
    - R5G5B5A1
    - Filtering: 0
    - Hi-Res textures: 0
    - VRam size: 0 MBytes

    Framerate:
    - FPS limit: on
    - Frame skipping: off
    - FPS limit: 60.0

    Compatibility:
    - Offscreen drawing: 1
    - Framebuffer texture: 0
    - Framebuffer access: 0
    - Alpha multipass: on
    - Mask bit: off
    - Advanced blending: none

    Misc:
    - Scanlines: off [0]
    - Unfiltered FB: off
    - Dithering: off
    - Screen smoothing: off
    - Full vram: off
    - Game fixes: on [00000001]

I hope this helps you guys. Thanks so much, and let me know if you need more information.

Use ePSXe 1.52 and tell us if that fixes it.

Well I tried v. 1.5.2 and it still doesn't work, same problem.

I've ran many other ISOs at very playable speed and quality with the graphics card and plugin I have now, just haven't been able to run this one.

Thanks everyone for the speedy replies.

I'm going to assume you've scanned your image for errors?
Well, you may wanna try PeOPs Soft Driver Video Plugin, just fer kicks...

would you be so kind as to list your other plugins & system specs.

Also, the fact that you've run other ISO's means nothing, as PS1 emulation isn't perfect.....close, but not perfect. Everyone has problems
with at least one game at one time or another....

EDIT - Also, I can't remember if you need it for FFVII or not, but try using the Odd/Even bit hack in yer Video Plugin Config. I haven't played this game in years...

I'm playing FF7 atm and "Pete's D3D Driver 1.74" is the video plugin that works best for me, no problems. The only special game fix I have on, is the "Adjust framebuffer access".

I have an AMD Duron Processor,751 MHz, with 504 MB of RAM. I'm also using P.E.Op.S. DSound Audio Driver 1.9
    Mode: 2
    Volume: 3
    Reverb: 2
    Interpolation: 2
    XA playing enabled

I'm also running ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.5.2. as my CDROM plugin.

I tried P.E.Op.S. Soft Driver Video and it worked, sorta. It got past the screen and seems to be running fine, but the screen is stretched funky.
This is what I'm running the plugin at:
    Plugin: P.E.Op.S. Soft Driver 1.1.17

    Resolution/Color:
    - 320x200 Fullscreen - [16 Bit]
    Stretch mode: 1
    Dither mode: 0

    Framerate:
    - FPS limit: off
    - Frame skipping: on
    - FPS limit: 200.0

    Misc:
    - Scanlines: disabled
    - Game fixes: off [00000000]

I've got a 1024 x 768 monitor, but the game seems to be running fine.

Edit: Actually I've tinkered with the setting a bit, and now it's running perfectly! In fact, every game is running better than ever. Many thanks for your help Woodman.
