what the hell is a ps-exe?!?
Actually Sprung, there are PlayStation executable files. If you look at the contents of some games you will see .exe files. Some demos and PS homebrew comes in the form of .exe files. That is why ePSXe has the option to open PS EXEs.
More information aobut this file is here.

Surlent, could you please try to provide more information in your posts and try to post without sounding like you have some hatred? It would be in your own benefit. It will help you get more informative replys.

Are ps-.exe's better compression wise? i.e. more efficient than the traditional winrar?
If so, I think coding a installer interface like PC games have is cool. You know the whole install process. It would be cool to install entire CD's worth of roms or PSX winrar archives like a PC game to a directory. Idk, I guess I'm just getting drag and drop lazy. lolz. :eyeball:
PS-EXEs are just executable files that a PlayStation can read. They have nothing to do with compressing roms or ISOs. Many homebrew applications for the PS1 come in EXE format. This is NOT a Windows executable, it is a PlayStation executable. You can run them by choosing the option Open PS-EXE under the file menu in ePSXe.
I guess my previous post was to confusing... I was getting at is it better to make a Windows .exe with psx winrar archives in it and have a menu to install them to a directory like a PC game. over just putting them in winrar archives? does an .exe offer more compression in that regard?

WinZip generally doesn't give you as much compression as WinRar though.
And you can make WinRar self-executing too:
When you archive something to WinRar, put a check for Create SFX archive.
But, some people are wary about downloading SFX archives because sometimes they have spyware, trojans, etc. embedded in them (that's what woodman was referring to).
I know winrar has self extracting archives i think everyone is mis-interpreting my question.
Is it possibly to code a windows .exe file like those in a PC game. And have install like a PC game. You know. Like Battlefield 2 for example. It installs the minute it hits your CD drive to a directory after you insert a CD key and then choose your install path. sound familiar?
Except instead of installing a PC game to a directory like Battelfield 2,You install a whole CD of winrar'd PSX iso's to a directory. idk how else to explain this. I wanna know if you can create a menu like that. you know have an windows .exe contain a CD or DVD's worth of Winrar'd PSX Iso's to install on your hard drive like a PC game.
I think I understand your question, but I don't see how it has ANY relation to this thread at all.
