what are the best cd's to burn to play on dreamcast.

hi i just join and i was wonder what cd's do you guys use. and was wonder what is the best i am trying to burn powerstone 2 i got from here and no luck it gives my the sega logo and after that a black screen. also the file is over 700mb's do you need higher cd's or no? also i use alchol120% i looked at anthor site's fourms for it but they did not give me an answer yet i am getting mad for them not answering me. also i am getting project justice also so i hope that does not happen so let me know ok? thanks again. also are TDK cd's fine i don't rember what cd's i use but i know they are not TDKs.

Where are you trying to play the games, in the real console or the emulator?
Burn the games at the slowest speed possible and RAW/DAO settings. If you want to try a different burning software, try Discjuggler which is free (if once you are gonna burn the game the prog asks you if you want to fix the errors, say no)
As for what brand is better, many people will tell you it doesn't matter too much as long as it's a good quality media. I use verbatims myself.

i knew i should of named my self something differnt like my alter ego well that does not matter. appralty that did not work does have the trail of al120% make a difference or not? i am really want to play marvel vs capcom 2 so bad...

Your question should of been can my Dreamcast play backup games

This depends on the region of your console aswell as the date it was made

Other things to take into account are that some games are not selfbooting while other are

For none selfbooting games you would need to use Utopia

al120% will not make any burn work any beter

Stick with Discjuggler the demo version, you can use that forever and the thing it limits is CD size only burnes and the burn speed is autoset to the lowest your burner will go

This is sounding more like a problem with your hardware instead of burning issues

You might want to try giving the laser a tune up

I used to use Verbatim discs. Then I found out I could get a crappier make of CD-R cheaper. They're Traata. They're not that bad. Every brand I burnt a game onto and put in my DC my DC's read it perfectly.

I havn't had a CD not read ok in my Dreamcasts yet, they seem to have very good laser units in them, only thing I have had to do with a couple of Dreamcasts is tune the laser pot on it.

I have used plenty of different CD's brand grade and so on, I tend to use Grade 3 CD's for everything now though (Brand isn't importand realy, even cheap brand sometimes do high grade CD's).

2 out of 6 have needed a laser tune... 1 I spilt coffee on it, now it's dead, 2 went to my kid bro and sis, I only have 2 Dreamcasts of my own now but I do look after them all if they need looking at.
