Default How about a CPU chart?

Does anyone know what basic CPU speeds are required to run different emulators(at full speed), from Genesis to Gamecube? A chart would be cool. I was just wondering, it's no problem if no one responds.

I've never com across a chart of each and every emulator's required specifications, but if you just check the site of the emulators you use, you could maybe draw one up yourself to distribute.

    Here's a start.

    ePSXe:
Processor: P200MMX (Pentium II 450 or better recommended)
RAM: 64 MB (128 MB or more is recommended)
    Graphics Card: 3D acceleration supported
    OS: Windows 9x or higher/Linux
DirectX: DirectX 7a or higher, with Direct3D supported
    CD-ROM: 16x or faster (optional)

    Project64 (PJ64):
Pentium III 600 Mhz or better
    128 Mb. RAM or more
Fast video card with 16 Mb. Video RAM or more
    Windows 95/98/Me
DirectX 6.0 (latest version of DirectX recommended)

    Gens:
    P2 266 MHz or K6-2 333 MHz
    32 MB RAM
    Win9x, 2000, or XP
    Direct X 7 or later
Last ASPI Drivers (You probably already have this)

I usually find these settings to be able to run a minimum amount of games that never used many system resources to begin with. Don't expect to run Goldeneye 64 or Conker's Bad Fur Day on those PJ64 specs. The same goes for running Gran Turismo 2 or Tekken 3 on ePSXe.

Different aspects of alot of emulators need higher specs, specially multi system emu's like Gens or Fusion

Gens may have problems running CD games on those specs and for 32X there is no change of it running at all

I had big problems running 32X with a:
    PIII 450
    256MB ram
    G-Force II (the good version)
    Win 98 and 2K
Needed to change the CPU setting for me to get anything and it was still slow running on those specs
CD games ran ok, very small amounts of lag in places (with perfect syncro enabled)

PJ64 is too wide ranged on what is needed for each game you wish to run

ePSXe should be fine, but depending on the plugins that are used/settings some plugins need more power than others

It's hard to give a recomendation on specs as even if most games run perfect with a recomendation some games may still have speed issues because the game itself has functions that take more emulation power

P.S. I do still like the idea of this though and maybe adding notes that state that some emulation aspects may need a more powerfull machine, maybe evwen give examples

Once there is enough information these can be added into the system guides for each system section

Sure, thanks for the info! My computer runs @ 2.8ghz (Pentium 4)with 1gb of ram, and 800mhz bus speed, I think. I'm able to play most N64 games, but have a little lag at times with DK64 and MP3 (Mario Party 3). I can also run ePSXe at full speed most of the time, but can't do anything else while I'm playing it.

It's strange, it seems like ePSXe directs all of my CPU to the emulator, rather than anything else. IE, if I turn the sound down on my keyboard, it takes about 10 seconds or longer just to show the volume meter on my screen.
