The karate kid. I'm not really a fan of karate, but I found the movie to be decent. Saw it on TV.

lul me too, this one TV station plays it like every other night. I have yet to see the second or third one. I am so not seeing the one with that black kid though.

Well I watched the old Cleopatra from 1963. 3 hours of it yesterday and the rest today. Love that movie, one of my all time faves.

Also today I watched PAUL, I was pleasantly surprised. Fucking funny movie. I love the starwars cantina music at that bar and the "get away from her bitch" from aliens. It was a joy of a movie, lots of fun.

    Superman Returns.

What can I say. It was a solid 5/10

Kevin Spacey was fantastic. And the best parts of the film involved him. You could close your eyes and almost think that it was Gene Hackman who himself was spectacular in that role. The story was weak and Superman himself was a little gay. I know it's hard to have him any other way what with his costume and that stupid hair curl but I always thought that Chris Reeves Superman had a bit of an edge at least. Special effects were seamless, guess that counts for something. Always digged that Superman music too.

Speaking of Spacey, anyone ever see him impersonating Christopher Walken trying out for the role of Han Solo. Funny stuff.

Drive (2011)- Pretty amazing. Nice to see style in a semi-action flick.

I Think We're Alone Now (2008)- About two people who want to be best friends with this washed-up singer from the 80s. Kind of creepy, especially the person who was born with both genitalia. Only an hour, but worth it.

I Saw the Devil (2010)- Intense Korean thriller goodness. Watch it.

Mystery Team (2009)- Funnier than I thought it would be. In fact, it actually made me laugh at parts. More than I can say for most comedies.

Sherlock Jr. (1924)- I totally respect Buster Keaton mainly for his pretty awesome stunts in his films and his excellent physical comedy skills, but there is just something about silent films that make it odd for me. It's like I'm not all there or fully paying attention even though I am. It's like when I laugh at a blooper real. It was still funny, but it didn't really mean that much.

Transformers 3. Better than the 2nd but doesn't match the charm of the first. Once again a weak story though. Kept expecting that wreckers crew to transform into a big robot, didn't happen. Damn.
    6/10

Xmen 3. Again. Just for the hell of it.

Pirates strange tides. Thankfully nowhere near as bad as I thought it was gonna be. Less humor in this than the others which may or may not be a bad thing. And those two dipshits weren't in it (bloom and knightly)
Definitely better than the last two. First one is the best though.

Rango. Haven't seen an animated movie in a while. WOW it looked great. Funny listening to Depp after pirates however he did a fantastic job on the voicing. Fun movie, enjoyed it.

Saw Midnight In Paris and I can say that it's easily one of Woody Allen's best. It deals with nostalgia and the "golden-age" thinking, and the escape from reality. It's a very enjoyable film.

Well after checking out Superman returns I decided to go for the original (which is leading me to watching all 4)

The first one wasn't as good as I remembered but it's getting pretty dated I guess. It was a little cheesy here and there. But Reeve still makes a better Superman. And overall still better than the newer one. The effects are still kind of decent even today. I mean you can tell it was made a while ago but still wasn't terrible besides it was the blueray version so I'm sure they touched things up

Also Superman 2 which is a lot of fun once again a little cheesy though. Seems like they were having a little trouble with the effects. More so the wire work since there more people flying around it may have been tricky not getting people tangled. Still a good movie. Also this is the one where they make fun of in a family guy episode when Superman throws an S from his chest that wraps up one of the bad guys like WTF.

    3 and 4 forthcoming

I watched Heavy Metal the other night. It was... decent, I guess.

    Animation was great, though.
