Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. Wow. Just wow. These DTV movies just keep getting better and better. It really makes me wish they would take a chance and release one on the big screen. Kingdom Come would be a great one.

OKAY We're The Millers wasn't all that bad considering it's genre.

I saw it with my mom, so that's probably why it was funnier to me.

We were both laughing the entire time!

Finally got around to 28 weeks later. It had its moments (like when he kills his wife) but all in all it was too short and with too thin a plot. It was more fun saying "oh hey I know that actor/actress from somewhere"

Wreck it Ralph. Not bad, got a little bored half way through. I'm not really into these movies but when it was recommended to me in the hangout I didn't realize it was game related only that it was an "animated" one and that was what saved it for me. That and Silverman

    It was ok 2.5/5

I love Wreck It Ralph (obviously). What made it work for me was that I'm a huge Disney fan and after so many years of trying to do "hip" movies to compete with DreamWorks, this was the first film of theirs in a long time where they focused on telling a good story first and worried about potential popularity second. Also, with my aspergers, there are a lot of days that I feel like a glitch, so Vanellope's character arc really resonates with me, hence the avatar. Best Disney film ever? Maybe not. Best Disney film since Lilo And Stitch? Definitely.

Had a hankering for some Hellboy last night. Not an overly popular movie but I love it

I'm a fan of Ron Perlman so there's that. And I've never even read the comic I also like it for the fact that it's not a 90 minute piece of fluff either.

Watched big trouble in little china with my girlfriend today as she had never seen it. She thought it was an odd mixture of awful and awesome.

Paths of Glory, I've been trying to watch more Stanley Kubrick films and I think I've seen most of his most loved films. He consistently makes great films.

Is that the B&W film with Kirk Douglas?
    Kubrick made some good stuff

Yeah, pretty much everything he made is great. If you haven't seen Killer's Kiss, I suggest you check it out. It's film Noir Kubrick style.

Yep, and the above comment pertains to you as well. I think my least favorite of Kubrick's movies is actually Full Metal Jacket, and before anyone cries blasphemy, I do think it's good, but only the first half. The boot camp segment is pure genius and overshadows the rest of the film - the action sequences that make up the rest of the movie are just standard fare and don't live up to the greatness of the first half.

Anyway, been awhile since I posted in here. I haven't been playing any games really since GTA5, but I've been watching movies. I'm adopting the late great Roger Ebert rating scale, so ratings are based on a 1 to 4 star rating, and if it is above 4 stars, then I'll claim it as a "Great Movie".

    Skyfall - ***
Night of the Living Dead (1968) - ****
Dawn of the Dead (1978) - Great Movie
    Day of the Dead (1985) - **
Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) - * 1/2 - A movie that did NOT need to be remade at all.
Friday the 13th (2009) - ** 1/2 - as much as I enjoy the originals for camp value, this reboot/remake is the bees knees for the series
    Dracula (1931) - Great Movie
The Wolfman (1941) - Great Movie
An American Werewolf in London (1981) - **** - when it comes to werewolf flicks, the only thing that rivals this is the original Wolfman (1941)
    Splice (2009) - ** 1/2
    Land of the Dead (2005) - *** 1/2
    Diary of the Dead (2007) - ***
Riki Oh: The Story of Ricki (1991) - ** 1/2
    Hostel - **
    Hostel III - ZERO STARS
    Scream 2 - ** 1/2
    Scream 3 - * 1/2
    Child's Play 2 - **
Bride of Chucky - *** (this movie is so ridiculous you can't help but like it)
Rocky Horror Picture Show - ****
The Thing (from another world 1951) - ****
    Session 9 (2001) - ** 1/2
    Jade (1995) - *
VHS (2012) - ** 1/2 - The bookend segments are trash, but the first 3 of 4 stories are actually pretty interesting. It's like Creepshow, only handheld style - several short movies etc.
    Freaks (1932) - *** 1/2
    Bride of Frankenstein (1935) - *** 1/2
    Young Frankenstein (1974) - ****
The Exorcist (1973) - Great Movie
    Saw - **
    Saw II - **
    Saw III - *
Saw IV - * (I stopped after this one - this series is just shit - to me it's like a bunch of nerds sat around and came up with semi-clever ways to murder people, then tried to build a story around the death sequences and somehow connect 6 fucking movies. I could give a shit less about how it all ends)

And I think that catches me up - this is about 2 months worth of movie watching, and since it's been a gaming drought since September and the Halloween season always brings out my horror movie innards, I've been occupied with the IFC, Sundance Channel, AMC and TCM - all have had some worthy horror flicks shown
