Yeah, you're probably right - but you gotta admit their movies (albeit for kids mainly) can still be pretty damn clever and have some nicely hidden adult themes that the kiddies don't pick up on. That's why I feel like the last 3 or 4 movies they've released have been lacking since they're just straight forward kids affairs mainly.

They've still made nothing that tops the greatness of AntZ though, IMO. That's a very smart movie disguised as a kids movie.

Dunno what to say. It wasn't bad. First 40 minutes were kinda bleh. They copied to much from Batman Begins for that and bounced around too much. A couple of things made absolutely no sense whatsoever. It got to be a little too much towards the end Too much like Avengers there with the city getting half destroyed The fight scenes were good and so were the effects. A little cheesy here and there. Overall it was better than most recent comic book movies. The actors did a good job and had some good people in it. Didn't like Amy Adams though and expected Russel Crowe to say "I am Gladiator" near the beginning But he's a douchebag anyways and never really liked or thought much of him either.

Yeah I just saw MoS this last weekend in 3D and I thought all the flashbacks were a little tiring.

The only wtf moments I experienced where:
    Spoiler warning:
When they just popped out with the suit and was all "Hey, I know this is just a lost scout ship but here's a neat outfit from our space closet!"
And the whole skull scene kinda had me going for a moment too.

Action was solid as you would expect. Except for the seemingly total disregard Superman had for peds while plowing through restaurants and gas stations.

Also seemed to be a crap load of advertising. Half expected him to stop mid fight to take a swig of Coke

Overall I can say it wasn't bad. A couple laughs and some more dramatic scenes that all tied together pretty good. I would definitely watch it again.

Just got done watching Dead Man Walking (1995) with Sean Penn. 5/5

I had been meaning to see this movie for years, and thankfully it was on Sundance tonight - great movie.... Sorry I missed it back when it premiered.

Watched V/H/S, it was sort of okay. Had a few cool twists.

Watched the sequel as well. It was terribad. The only good part was the bit in Indonesia, rest of the movie sucked hard.

    /Days later...

So I watched Man of Steel last night, I actually thought it was rather enjoyable. I felt that the action sequences were rather well constructed, though the camera felt like it was too close to the action. And like a few people stated already there was SO MUCH product placement. Even so, I recommend it if you've any interest in Superman or super hero movies at all.

Watched Lost highway, Mulholland Dr, and Twin Peaks:Fire Walk With Me. Damn. I now know why a reviewer dubbed these movies the "denial trilogy". I loved the movies, but I'll have to watch them again to understand them more.I can see the themes are similar throughout each one. The main character is in denial, each one deals with it differently. Recommend all of them, just prepare to take copious amounts of notes.5/5

Yeah, those are all great movies. Lynch is a true master of the weird and absurd

I caught Videodrome (1983) with James Woods last night. Speaking of strange movies, this is a good one to check out as well. I thoroughly enjoyed it

You can never, truly, fully understand Mulholland Dr. There are holes.

I think Lost Highway makes a lot less sense than Mulholland Dr. Mulholland is basically entirely the protagonist's projection of what she wanted her life to be, mixed with some dream elements. About the only part of the movie that was "real" was the last 30 minutes or so.

Lost Highway is just fucked. Plain and simple

Yeah, it's been a long time since I've seen Lost Highway. Used to have discussions about that shit.
