Well, seriously, I think you guys should be the first to know. There are going to be some big changes here at the EP Forums.

First on the agenda is the transition to epforums.org, which should be taking place sometime very soon. People who cannot let go of the past will still be able to access forums.emuparadise.org =P.

Second, is the move to Malaysia. Yeah, the server is going to be relocated. We're having a lot of trouble with the ESA recently, and I feel it's better we're based in a place pretty much inaccessible to them. This too should be happening soon.

Thirdly, we're going to change to a portal system (vb-based) which will allow our members to write articles and publish them on the forum homepage, much like vbulletin.org or sitepoint.com.

Anyway, that's the gist of it. Questions ? Feel free to ask.

Everything sounds great. Good work MasJ. Just curious though but why Malaysia? I hear that Sweden has very cheap internet service as well as not having any restrictions as far as piracy goes. *Cough* Pirate Bay

Pings are actually of the order of 200ms to the US. Decent for browsing I feel.
Sweden does have anti piracy laws, so to speak. However, TPB is just torrents, so they don't get affected that much. If a site carrying files were to be hosted in sweden, there might be trouble..

I get 60ms ATM, and sometimes the forums are "busy". Will this happen on the new server?
