Default Help with burning a psx to CD-R to play on ps1 console

Hi, I have wasted 6 blank cds trying to burn this game
Vandal Hearts (downloaded from this site) for psx to play on my playstation.
When I extracted the whole rar file, I got a bin and a cue file. I used alcohol 120% and cloneCD and Cdrwin and all sorts of other programs and for some reason, after burning, the cd does not work. I have a modchip for my playstation 1. Yes! my mod does work with other burnth games. However, when I burn my the Vandal Hearts game, it does not work. Can somebody help me with this?
When I put the cd into the playstation, a white screen comes up and then a black screen with the playstation logo and playstation word at the bottom of it come up. At this point, it does not go any further.

Is this game protected? Do I need some sort of patch?
The cd-r that I am using is maxell with silver coating?
    Is it the cd-r?
I tried burning at 1x and still doesn't work

    I need help seriously!

Can anybody help me with this?

hmmmmmm, try fiddling with the settings on alcohol 120%. Have you tried using DAO/SAO on the write method, instead of the default playstation settings? Also, try burning at 4X or 8X instead of 1X because that can be too slow, speed doesn't normally matter on newer burners anyway, but try 4 and 8X. Also, cd-rs don't tend to differ these days (I use the cheapest brand, work fine) and I'm pretty sure the game isn't copy-protected.

Make sure the game is the correct region for your PSX (Ex: if your PSX is NTSC, then the game should also be NTSC)

    EDIT--
Patches are for Vandal Hearts II...my bad.

I'm using Alcohol 120% for .bin/.cue formats, clonecd for .ccd/.img/.sub and it works fine. It is strange why it doesn't work for you, maybe the cue has some problems... try looking for another source and re-download it.

aznto_thamax (who's the one asking for help) didn't say anything about getting it to work with Nero, that was luke66.

    Whoops, you're right ryusei.

Those patches are for Vandal Hearts II.

    sorry about that

Maxell CDRs are no good. Try TDK, Sony or Philips. I've had a bunch of Maxells once and many of them ended as coasters after burning PSX images.

Well the game isnt protected so i think that must be a problem about your console or some kinda problem with cds, burn in tdk sony or verbatim and the problem will disapear

The only types of CD media that don't give me any problems when burning PSX games are either Sony brand discs or another brand called Prodisc. Prodisc media can be purchased with either a blue or black dyed bottom, just like original PSX discs. I haven't had much success with TDK media (No problems burning games, but they skip like crazy), but then again it could be my burner...As for your Vandal Hearts problem, you might wanna try d/ling it from another source if you continue to have problems
