umm... you sure about that? a pII is VERY old. you could try wolfenstein 3d, or tank wars! yes, tank wars! a great game there. not much you CAN play with less than 256 mb RAM and not knowin what vid card you have.
I don't care if your world is ending today/ Because I wasn't invited to it anyway/ You said I tasted famous, so I drew you a heart/ But now I'm not an artist I'm a fucking work of art/ I got an F and a C and I got a K too/ And the only thing that's missing is a bitch like U
mine was 45 dollars, and i was able to moddfied it

45 bucks...Modify it how? Drawing on the side? Painting it?
Anyway. Try and run quake 3. It might work. If it doesn't, don't bother playing anything. Get a new PC.
It will run. Be sure to cut a bit on the GFX stuff though.Originally Posted by Darth Lucxus

Hells no, if it's a 2MB video card. Even the 3Dfx Voodoo had 4MB video memory, so I even doubt it has 3D acceleration. And a 300MHz CPU isn't going to cut it for Q3, I'm afraid.Originally Posted by polobunny

Anyway, getting back on topic. Home of the Underdogs is definitely a neat place for you to go, it has all sorts of great games, without regard to age. Although your computer might be a bit new to run old classics. Still, check out the different game genres, sorted by rating, and it's very likely you'll find something that appeals to you.
A few personal recommendations:
Dark Omen: One of the best real-time strategy games, putting the focus on battle tactics, instead of resource gathering. There might be a few compatibility issues, though.
Incubation: Turn based puzzle-strategy game in the Battle Isle universe. Pretty neat.
Cave Story: I feel sort of guilty recommending this game to anyone and everyone, but still, it's good. link
Populous 3: A game from the Black&White / Moives guy, Peter Molyneux and team. Basically B&W without the pet.
Magic Carpet 1-2: Another Bullfrog game, a great blend of action and strategy.
Master of Orion 2: Space exploration/war and whatever. Turn based empire building strategy.
Abandonware search sites:
http://www.freeoldies.com/: /me like.
http://www.abandonwarering.com/: Also good.
Nah, I'll stop, those sites should get you started.

Quake made multiplayer FPS games popular. So.
You could get a few nifty mods for it, like Tenebrae (adding Doom 3 like shadow volumes) or QMB.
hey,it's a good machine,I don't agree with what they are saying about not being
able to play very much with it.
a list of all the games you can play would be very large, but I'll name some.
btw: get a DOS operating system, not a NT one.
I recommend win98 for that specs,
it'll work faster and DOS = more games will work.
(yes,win9x = DOS,win 2000/xp = windows nt)
Another graphics card will help too,get a voodoo card with 8 or 16 mb and you'll
get even complex games running with both great graphics and good speed.
Ok,the list of some of the game you can run with that NOT SO OLD AND NOT BAD
computer:
mdk,virtua fighter 1 and 2,alone in the dark 1 to 3,street fighter alpha 1 and 2,
gabriel knight 1 and 2,3 maybe, all lucasarts adventure games like sam & max, full
throttle,the dig,day of the tentacle,mortal kombat 1 to 4,7th guest,11th hour,
doom 1 and 2,aliens vs predator,blood 1 and 2,sin,descent 1 to 3,deus ex,
diablo 1 and 2,fallout 1 and 2,final fantasy 7 and 8,heretic 1 and 2,hexen 1 and 2,
dark forces and jedi knight, legacy of kain blood omen 1 and soul reaver 1,
megaman x 1 to 5,monkey island 1 to 4,outlaws,prince of persia 1,2 and 3d,
resident evil 1 to 3,shivers 1 and 2,unreal,baldur's gate,star wars phantom menace,
crusader no remorse and no regret, planescape torment, command & conquer,
all sierra adventures like the space quest and king's quest series, classics like
arkanoid 1 and 2,raiden 1 and 2,and lots and lots of games, think about all the games between 1980 and 1998/99 more or less (with some exeptions of newer games
from 2000 that might work. diablo 2 and deus ex for example are from 2000,right?,
with a decent graphics card like a voodoo or something, they'll work)
well,I hope this helps.
nothing
Duke Nukem 3d, Monkey Island 1 - 3, roms (snes, nes, sega, gba etc.) and smthg.
Warcraft 2 and Oddworld Abe's Odyssee for example.
