    Default PS2 Games

I borrowed my friend's PS2 for the Christmas and need ideas on good games to play, as I simply have no knowledge in this dark area of the gaming world I prefer RPGs but I'll play anything (Except God of War. I have to draw the line somewhere). And is there any way I can easily mod it? Eg Soft mod similar to the xbox

Go with Final Fantasy X and Dragon Quest VIII. They are both pretty good. I havne't played it, but Kingdom Hearts is loved by many. You can also play some of the great PS1 RPGS such as Final Fantasy VII and VIII. Personaly I prefer VIII.

I would also suggest that you play Gran Turismo 4 and Ace Combat 5. For a first person shooter I would recommend Killzone.

I'll recommend you two very different games: Shadow of the Colussus, a great adventure & Burnout Takedown or Revenge, some of the best arcade racing games for the PS2 imo.

I've pretty much covered Burnout games with my X-Box.

I was kidding about God of War, but seriously, I simply don't have any interest in it. So,

    FFX
    KH
    DQ8

I thought that FF7 and 8 were only on PSX, not PS2??

PS2 can play PSX games. It's called backwards compatibility my friend. Over 99% of PS1 games will play on PS2.

For RPGs, you can't go wrong with Xenosaga, Kingdom Hearts and Suikoden III. Great games, those. Make sure to pick a few games off Konami and Nippon Ichi as well. Metal Gear Solid, Zone of the Enders, Disgaea, Phantom Brave and the like.

hax! I didn't know that at all, now I just need a retail copy of FF7 to play =(

Edit: How are the Disney characters in Kingdom Hearts, I hear they're in that game, but are they like, you know, incredibly annoying?

Actually, Kingdom Hearts almost makes Disney look cool. Almost.

If by almost you mean it succeeds totally, then yeah.

I second Shadow of the Collossus, as well as Devil May Cry 3, and Metal Gear Solid 3 (Beat it in 7 hours).
