Default PS Resident Evil 2 Dual Shock Edition

I'm having trouble burning this image. Each time I burn, no matter which method I use the game freezes on the BIOS screen. I have a modded PS2 that I have played tons of burned games on, so this isn't a hardware related issue at all.

I downloaded Woodman's YSI upload of Resident Evil 2 Dual Shock Edition , which is split into 5 RARs for each disc. Uncompressed it gives me these file types: .ccd, .cue, .img, .sub.
I've tried burning the .ccd with both CloneCD and Alcohol 120% to no avail. I have also tried mounting the .img with Alcohol 120% virtual drive, and then creating a .bin, .cue with ISOBuster, and then burning which did not work. I then tried to check the image file with CDMage, but each assumed file type I try says it isn't the correct type. I've burned a couple hundred working discs over time since starting a couple years ago, and I have a certain level of confidence in this, but this time around I really am stumped. Any suggestions or advice on how to fix this problem would be way cool. Thanks!

CD Mage reports no problems on this end.
Runs in ePSXe 1.6.0 just fine.

Does it run in ePSXe for you? I'm gonna recheck the UL to make sure it's not corrupted.

Actually yea I didn't mention it but ran fine in EPSXE, at least to the title screen, didn't run it any further. Tell me how to check it with CDMage, I think I'm doing something wrong.

    Open CD-Mage 1.02.1 Beta5

    File \ Open
    Select: Resident Evil 2 - Disc 1.cue

Then Select: Scan for Corruption, it's the icon of a disc and a magnifying glass.
    Then just click scan.

I DLed it from my links, extracted, scanned, and played. All is well here..

Sorry, I can't help further, as I do not have a chipped PS1..

Ok thanks I got it to work, I was loading the .img, not the .cue. Yea both images check out with 0 errors as you said. So it must be a matter of the recording.. Thanks Woodman. Still if anyone has any help as to why I can't get these to burn and play correct, please help me.

Are you burning at the slowest speed?

Also, some games are protected. thought it was only the PAL games, but I could be wrong.

no, but maybe that's it i've been burning at 12X, but it hasn't been a problem with the other titles I've burned.. I guess my next step would be to try it at 1X eh?

Or whatever is the slowest your writer will go.

Like I said, though. I don't have a chipped PS1, so unfortunatly this is all the
    help I can give. Sorry....

    Good Luck..

no worries man,, your always a lot of help and you always come with the games, thanks

<b>EDIT</b> O.K. I tried burning the game on 1x and it still freezes on the BIOS screen. So restating my findings:

1- game has 0 errors with CDMage
2- game works fine with ePSXe
3- game doesn't work once burned with alcohol 120, NERO, or CloneCD

If anyone has gotten the version Woodman posted to work on their PS2 please let me know.. I honestly think it's a dud at this point.

Try another burning program, like DVD Decryptor.

If you mean DVD <b>Decrypter</b>, not Decryptor.. it appears to be a DVD ripping software rather than a cdr burning suite. I took this description from the official site <i>"DVD Decrypter is a highly versatile VOB-ripping utility. The software takes advantage of both the DeCSS Plus and VobDec algorithms for looking up and decrypting the CSS encryption. DVD Decrypter is also multi-angle aware, and capable of removing the Macrovision scrambling key, as well as the region code during the ripping process. "</i>

so just want to confirm, is that the program you are suggesting?

Well, yes... it does burning, as well, so try it out.

You might want to try having a look at Alcohol 120% Mini Illustrated Guide created by polobunny if you haven't done so already.
