Default Top 10 movies of all time.

Lets compile the top 10 movies of all time. Post your top 10 here and only the top 10. Please dont reply to other people top 10. When everyone has posted their top ( well not everyone but lets say a week from now ) I will post the top 10 bye picking the movies that have been repeated the most. Will take some time but I think it will be fun to see the outcome.

So think hard and post your favs and don't be embarrassed!!! So lets say everyone has till next Tuesday then anymod please close the thread down after!

    Rock on!!!!

Edit: Please, some movies have remakes so put down which movie you mean.

Edit: if you say Dawn of the Dead, Star Wars,Matrix as example and liste all their movies as one listing I will choose the originsl or the first part in the series. So if you like Empire Strikes back more than a New Hope make sure you say so.

I'm not even sure I remember most of the movies I've seen. At any rate, in whatever order I remember them...

    1. Lola Rennt (Run Lola Run) - A very interesting movie...would it be avant garde or something like that? Think chaos theory and butterfly effect. One day, three ways.

    2. Kaze no Tani no Naushika (Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind) - Particular nostalgia value for me, at least.

    3. Monty Python and the Holy Grail - It's just so quotable. And, if you're lucky, you'll only be the 500th person to have quoted any particular line.

    4. Alien - Well, I probably wouldn't say it's one of the best 10 ever, but of what I've seen, it suits.

    5. K-19: The Widowmaker - Extra points for this because I can just imagine what this would have been like just a decade earlier, but it stands well on its own merits to me. And in reality, not only did this ship suffer that same nuclear breach in 1961, it managed to somehow collide with a US submarine in the Barents Sea in 1969 and catch on fire at 120m below the surface in 1972. A ship called "Hiroshima," indeed...

    6. Dr. Strangelove - Completely strange humour, and "We must not allow a mine shaft gap!"

    7. The Day after Tomorrow - Let's hear it for pseudo-science. As long as you shut off your brain before it started screaming, "This can't happen! How did supercells start forming within days of the Gulf Stream disappearing! How did the Gulf Stream even take days to disappear instead of gradually tapering off and vanishing over months and years! How are they outrunning a cold front! Why didn't the shallow-water seas freeze over in that ISS view!", it was rather amusing.

Also, though I haven't seen them, I'll add Citizen Kane, A Clockwork Orange, and Minority Report with the proviso that I'll watch them eventually.

Far from a complete list, but I'm sure other people will post stuff that'll remind me of what else I've seen and liked, so I can add another 3 later (that I've actually seen). Oh, and Mikey, do you mean the 1953 War of the Worlds? Or perhaps the Pendragon or Asylum versions? I didn't think there were any old film or indie film buffs here.

Memento - most original movie i've ever seen
    Star Wars - classic
Ju-On: The Curse - this is the scariest movie and in fact, scariest thing i've ever seen. I coldn't sleep for weeks after watching it.
Hitch - simply nice and romantic
Matrix - the only movie, where nothing seems unreal

Well, like everything i can think out now.

well for me three movies come to mind, Brave Heart and the LOTR, and Harry Potter
Taken from here from which it came and used in such a way that i could only be a representation of what it was and where it came from.

Those are all good (imo), but that's 2 votes for Not Another Tenn Movie! That movie sucked (imo), and I believe I could make a 15-minute improv skit funnier and better than the whole movie

I won't bother listing my top 10, sicne it'd be too hard to choose in a couple of minutes. My least fave 10 are:
    Empire records
    Black Knight
    White Chicks
Any War movie (they bore the hell out of me)
eight mile (i haven't even seen it, but I know it'd be vomit-inducing and it'd give me ngihtmares for the rest of my life)
That 50 cents movie (haven't seen, but... see above )
    Empire records
Johnson family vacation (oh my fucking god...)
Mr 3000 (oh my fucking god times infinite...)
    Empire Records

Platoon is my favorite movie of all time. All the others are in no particular order.

    Apocalypse Now
    Escape From New York
    The Thing
    Memento
    The Big Lebowski
Night of the Living Dead (original)
Dawn of the Dead (original of course)
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
    Predator
    Vae Victus!

Sacrifices have been made, thunder and lightning appear
Rejoice in hideous blasphemy, know that the time is near
The chosen hail their master well, lusting for hate and scorn
Crying out in evil ecstacy, the antichrist is born

LOL OMG I'M ON MYSPACE I'M A SELLOUT
