Question Martial Arts & Stick Fighting?

OK something a bit offtopic I have to ask. Anyone know any good martial arts DVDs to LEARN kung fu, taekwondo, bokodan and related stuff? So far I've found stuff like this and this on Amazon but I don't know how good it is.
I want a good way to learn, practice & become better at a martial art. Fists, feet and body attacks along with self-defense, postures & reversals.

but......wouldn't this be on topic since the thread's purpose is what you specified in your title and post? btw i thought this would be about something totally different (stick figure fighting in flash)

I would recomend Bruce Lee's "Jit kun do"

there is a book and also an instructional video with Bruce Lee himself, he shows some bacic training techniques and also share some of his philosophy. I have it on my pc if anyone wants I could probably yousendit or give you a link on how to get it.....even if you don't want to learn martial arts I just liked watching it to see a legend...its pretty rad.

Maybe I'm totally off base here, but I think having a good instructor would be 1000 times more valuable than trying to do it yourself.

I sister has a lot of Tae Bo videos. They seem to help seeing as she can kick my ass. Though in retrospect I am a little nancy boy.
I can think of anything of worth to put here.

Exactly what Xaenn says. See if you can find an instructor in your area and take training under him. There are a lot of precautions a person must take before attempting any of those. For example, something to wear to protect your "balls" from overstraining. No seriously. It actually happens. Also, an instructor would know how to do some stuff the WAY ITS ACTUALLY SUPPOSED TO BE DONE and in which position to be done, etc, etc.

Hope you're getting what am trying to say, coz if you don't take precautions, you might end up on the "losing side" rather than the "gaining side" from all this

    Edit:

Oh and by the way, thats called a "langoti" in Hindi language (in India). Its a long cloth that you have to flex and tie it tightly around the groin region, which ACTUALLY helps relieve stress from your "balls" while lifting heavy weights, etc. Not sure whether you guys have something like that in America I used to wear it when I used to workout in a gym here. Also, there is a way to PROPERLY wear a "langoti" and only an instructor can teach you how to do that.

Martial arts are for self defence only, no matter how you learn it, just remember that...

He's right. It'll still take years (I'm talking 4-5) years before you'll be able to martial arts for self-defense.
There are better (more effective, and a lot more brutal) ways for self defense, actually.

btw, I often wonder why so many ppl on EP go shooting their mouth off telling ppl, well basically, "you can't do that" or "don't bother". I mean, what's the point? It's thread crapping however you take it.

Here's a definition for the word helpful.
And here's a defintion for the opposite of helpful. Don't be #2...be #1! LOL

    have a pleasant day.

If the point of the thread is helping you learn martial arts, it's not thread crapping, just voicing an opinion.
If the point is in helping you get a useful DVD to learn martial arts, well... maybe it is. Still, why do you oppose the idea of getting a tutor?

X-EvansBasher-X since your searching for Stick Attack Technique try searching for Bruce Lee: Short Stick Attack Technique or Bruce Lee: Long Stick Attack Technique. Here a site where you can use it as references for searching for tutorial videos Martial Art Tutorial Videos.
I guess most of the good shit you got to buy because its hard find, but try searching DC+ and #irc because I remember there was hubs of martial art videos only . Also I couldn't PM you back because I got a message saying you don't allow to receive private messages

I'm telling you right now, if you're gonna learn a martial arts that's practical in a street fight, then you should take any of the following: Kickboxing, muay thai(not the traditional one), wrestling(not the wwe kind).

Don't learn from a video plz... the only videos that actually work are the ones for intermediate "FORMS" practitioners who already know most of what they're doing, and even at that the most these guys will get from the video are just tips and minor techniques.
