    Default Problem with snes9x

I try to load a game, but it it doesn't detect the folder its in, and then it gives me a There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

Are you playing from a CD, Flash Drive, or Floppy? It's probably best to play from your HD (snes games are small, so space shouldn't be an issue if your machine is even remotely powerful enough to play SNES ROMS). Click cancel and you should be able to change drives. Also, consider decompressing the games before running them, since most ROMS are in .zip format.

So, where do I find the settings to change that?

Settings for what exacly? Are you asking about uncompressing the roms?

Just right click the zip folder in "My Computer" or "Windows Explorer" and select "Extract to..." Then just find a place to extract the files.

If you need to change it to read your HD instead of a removable device (Floppy, DVD, CD, etc). Just click cancel on that error window (or insert a device into that drive) and look at the top of the window. You can just change it to read C drive. Then just click through the folders tlll you find whatever rom you are trying to play.

Click cancel on that pop-up window that says insert a device. That should bring up a blank screen. That should allow you to change it to from your CD drive to your hard drive (you got in before my edit)

Okay, that's odd, I can't seem to replicate that error with my version of Snes9X. You may want to try upgrading or something. I didn't notice that it uses a WE type window (it's been pointing to MyDocuments->Snes since I got this computer, and I tend to use zsnes). Just look for C: on the right side of the screen and click the + sign next to it. then just do the same thing for all folders/subfolders till you get to the one you use to store your roms.
