Secret of mana is sort of like Legend of Zelda really, only a bit more RPG-ish. If you're looking for a really in depth RPG, look for the translated copy of star Ocean. The Breath of Fire series was also all right. You may also want to look for some front mission or Ogre Battle (they're tactical, but still fun for RPG masters)

    Some of my favs:

    Final Fantasy (all of them)
Star Ocean (many endings, very in depth)
Mario RPG (not really hard but kind of fun)
    Dragon Warrior (classic RPG)
Chrono Trigger (pretty much anything by squaresoft really)
Front Mission (the level of customization on mechs is suprising for SNES)

Please don't tell me you left out EarthBound intentionally.

Earthbound is also great. Forgot for a minute.....maybe you should just download all SNES RPGs (Like I did). It'll just take too much time to list all the great ones, especially if we include translated RPGs that weren't released outside Japan (eg: Tales of Phantasia, Bahamut Lagoon, Star Ocean....many many others).

gosh.. i got worried there reading the first couple posts not seeing earthbound on anyone's list. earthbound is such a great game and i absolutely love the jazzy music, and the crazy characters, and the bizarre weapons, and the whole fourside/moonside thing, and the non-random battles, and everything..

RoboTRek is pretty cool. Its not quite an rpg (or probably not at all) but ActRaiser is an entertaining game.

You can find an english version of FF6 here on EP's main site (it's called FF3 beacuse FF2,3,and 5 weren't released outside of Japan). You can also find a Special Ed remake in the PSX ISO section for 5 and 6. I can't remember where I found most of my roms, but http://www.CoolRom.com is a good place to start (they're an affiliate so I assume that linking to them is OK)
