Default Sword of the Berserk - Can't load saved game

In the Dreamcast game Sword of the Berserk, I am able to save my game, but when I try to load it, it starts me at the beginning of the game. If I select quit game, it asks me if I want to save, after saying yes, it says the save was successful. Also, when I start the game up, it says load successful, but when I try to load it or select the continue game option, it just starts at the beginning. I'm using Chankast, but have also tryed the game on my actual Dreamcast. My VMU recognizes it and has a game data file, but it still has the same problem. Could it be that that there's a problem with the ISO when it was ripped? It does have a minor sound glitch here and there, but seems to run fine other than that. Anyone have this problem or have any suggestions? Thanks

I was wondering if I needed to make it to a certain point in order to save. I've made it to the level where its at night and you're out on the street. Is this far enough, or do I need to make it further? Its hard to determine what counts as an actual level because some of the stages are very short and only have to fight a few guys to make it to the next cinematic movie.

Yup, that's what it was. I had to make it further in order to save. I didn't realize that all that was just 1 level. Works fine now. Thanks for the help.
