Default Xenogears crash in the deus fight on disc 2

Hi I'm playing Xenogears and I'm up to the point in Disc 2 where you fight Deus for the first time and he son a big platform in the centre and just keep healing himself. The problem is the game keeps crashing at random points during that battle. It usually happens when he does a move called 'deus' on a single character. I've tried it on both ePSXe and PSXeven but it does it on boths emus. Anyone know the answer? And please dont just tell me to get another emulator

    Thanks

When I got here I had the same problem. I just made a save state right before the fight and kept retrying until he diden't do his special move, or it would skip through it the odd time. Not the best advice but it's what I did. I'm sure someone else will know more.
