then you need to know this:
The RIAA, MPAA and other anti-piracy groups have set up SPY SERVERS on the ed2k network.
Yes, this is old news for some of you, and I knew about this months ago too. But I didn't know which servers were the spy servers, and since I really haven't used E-Mule much lately anyway, on the occasions I did use it, I just kept connecting to servers I knew were safe, because I've been using them for years.
But now, I've found out which servers are the KNOWN SPY SERVERS.
Here's the list:

This link gives more info about this situation (you should read what it says here too)

And here's what you need to do if you have E-mule to protect yourself from these spy servers:
At the top of Emule, click Options > Server > and UNCHECK these:
Auto-update server list at startup
Update server list when connecting to a server
Update server list when a client connects
Now at the top of Emule, click Servers.
You should see your server list.
Right-click, and choose Remove All. (It's safe to do this while Emule is running, even if your downloading or uploading something--you don't have to disconnect first)
After you've removed ALL the servers listed in your E-mule client, go here, and click Add to Emule (it's at the top of the page, don't forget to bookmark or add this link to your Favorites)
http://www.gruk.org/list.php
You should now have a new server list in E-mule.
Notice how many fewer servers you now have...I went from 112 servers to 57 .
But I don't think all of those other servers were spy servers.
Probably just most of them
Remember to check gruk.org for an updated server list every once in awhile, because you're Emule will no longer auto-update the server list like it did before.
