gamefly i think is some company that rents out video games and mails them to their customers and you mail them back when the due date is set. i think.

    Default GameFly...aka "rent & rip"

I'm surprised you never heard of GF, FlamingGnats. They've earned a good reputation here in the U.S., on various gaming boards and through their advertisting wh0re....er partners, GameSpot & IGN. Also, GameCrazy (by Hollywood Video) is quite popular. As anything with a video rental company, their prices are higher than GameFly.

NetFlix is great. As long as you have a distribution center near you, and email them to complain if they take more than 2 days to mail you a new DVD, they will be quick. Trust me, I had them for over a year. Always received back my new DVD 3 days or less from when I mailed their old one back. GF & NF work by giving you a large queue of games/DVDs to work with. Most of the newer titles are not easy to get, but older titles (like 2-3 mos) are almost always in stock. You pay a low monthly fee, receive your choices, view them, then return them. No postage, no tracking, no lost media... it's all included in the monthly fee.

NetFlix is also very valued among pYrates. Yes, they get some very rare Imports/International titles and then rip them upon arrival. Sometimes ppl will actually watch the movie, but hey....I'm not into that stuff.

With a GameFly account, you might be able to get your hands on a week old PS2/Xbox game. You're paying a low monthly fee, and you can let your PC go to work on backing it up. Enjoy the game a few days, or just send it back & get the next one in queue. This is what I will be doing with a few games, as they are almost never available on Ebay, Usenet or otherwise.

With NF or GF, you can expect good media. If it's scratched, you can complain and they will let you re-rent w/out taking from your queue. Or just try to live with the errors and hope for the best.

Hope this info has been useful.

Yeah, do they have Aussie distribution centers? BigPond has a similar service but it's a piece of crap.

According to this picture, NetFlix has a good customer rating.
They don't offer service in AUS/NZ as of yet. If they expand, it would most likely be in North America or Europe.

Awww, BigPond's service just streams the games to you but I prefer discs, and plus, it's expensive.

have not tried gamefly, i dont really rent games. however i hate blockbuster, seems they were always charging me late fee, and i love netflix. d/c close by can return and have new movies usually in 2 days. and with the amount of movies we watch netflix comes out cheaper than using blockbuster anyways

    just my $0.02 worth

    It's cross season!
