    one word....PONG

the detail put into the story line made such an impact on my life. I'm the only one who gets the deap philosophical meening behind such an ancient and godly game.

Are you sure confusing is really the best adjective? I think terrible might be more fitting...

    Xenogears was pretty deep...

For me Xenogears was deep, Advent Rising could have been deep had it not been so damn buggy.

chrono trigger and donkey kong had pretty deep stroylines especially donkey kong losing his bananas and stuff and hey it got a tv show same as mario and zelda. oh that reminds me mario...every game is completely different from the last thus giving the mario series the greatest in depth storyline ever.

Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross. Also, Xenogears ranks high in the list as well : ).

the only thing that gave me a headache about mgs 2 and 3 was the same thing as in xenosaga: 2 times more fmv than actual gameplay, though the mgs games were actually sufferable. I played xenogears for 3 separate 1 hr periods and could not reach the first savepoint!!! I gave up and sold it 6 months later.

Deep story....recently? Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne for PS2. Tense, involving and extremely mature (for way more than violence or sex could ever be worth: kids will simply not understand anything about this game.) Plus it takes some serious skillz to finish this monster.
