Does anyone else here listen to MCR? What do you think of their "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge" album?

I actually got a song by them, Helena, the other week because I was told it was rad... I have that album and another one subsequently downloaded, but I haven't gotten around to listening to them yet. I expect I'll like them, though.

My friend sent me a site to actually listen to the album. If anyone's interested, here's the link:Originally Posted by Skinner8

There are not words in the English language strong enough to describe my abhorrance of My Chemical Romance. I don't like them, nor 99.999% of all other bands that get played on MTV.
they have some very good songs. my favorites are:
Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough For The Two of Us
You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison
Thank You For the Venom
MCR? try the MC-5
I like "Thank You For the Venom" as well, but I love "Helena" and "To the End" the most thus far.Originally Posted by artist088
I have to say, the do seem to have some good song titles. Shame I don't like them though They do seem to have become the poster-childs of the faux-emo MTV movement. Or phase, whatever.
Increase the size of your wang - PM crusher the words "poo poo" for extra length now!

i think they do a good job playing music.
but they are 100% look rad MTV material. bummer....
get on your bikes and ride!
Please, please, please do not rate My Chemical Romance by their performance on "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge." While the songs have much more vocal participation, the best songs are to be found on their debut album, "I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love." The only songs worth listening to one "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge" are The Ghost of You, This Isn't a Fashion Statement It's A Fucking Deathwish, and "You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison." Almost all of the other songs are overplayed, contemptable emo-stereotype crap.
However, "IBYMB,YBMYL" was a great album. Songs like "Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough For The Two Of Us," "Demolition Lovers" (a personal favorite), "Our Lady Of Sorrow," "Headfirst For Halos" and "Early Sunsets Over Monroeville" are among the strongest on the album. You can tell the different between the two -- one is pre-popular, one is post-popular. Many of us know what that can do to a great underground band. Hell, look at The Misfits.
Same here, you got me on MCR, played both albums a lot. But now I really don't like 'em. I'm gonna stay at my Muse, Placebo and Green Day collection.Originally Posted by Cosmic

+1. Damn, they kick ass for a band that got played daily on MTV.Originally Posted by Nitramuse
My girlfriend really likes Placebo... I don't mind them. I haven't heard a lot of their stuff, though. What I've never understood was the cult following for Green Day... I mean, I like their stuff, but most of their newer songs aren't as great as they're hyped up to be.
And maybe it's just me, but I cannot stand that "Wake Me Up When September Ends" song. It makes me want to shoot things.
