Default Stupid @$$ Internet Explorer hosed...how to fix it?

I don't know what happened, but IE 6.0.2399.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050201-1519 isn't working right anymore. When I try to download from megaupload for instance, the seconds to download do not advance. It also times out within a few minutes on almost every download. On uploads, it times out within 2-3 minutes.

This is my old PC. I'm going to redo the HD and format/fdisk in a few days...but in the meantime what's going on? I had that evil ATP adware/spyware installed but stomped it. What's up? How do I fix IE? I could install Mozilla but I have to move all my bookmarks & several of my ASP projects; IE is tied into my system.

firefox will automatically move all your bookmarks for you. its easier just to get used to firefox then wipe everything and start over.

Would it help if yet another person chimed in that Firefox is great?

instead of backing up all you bookmarks just go to the edit bookmark page and copy and paste the link in to firefox then bookmark that, thats what i did so when i go to bookmarks it has Edit your bookmarks then i click that and i have all my bookmarks instead of havign to trasnfer 50 something favorites.
