Well, she's not exactly an Amish lesbian per se, but close enough. It was a compliment if anything.

Try "Getting offensive? I'm being annoying, then."

As far as I'm concerned, you are entirely wrong (see above for me having knowledge and you being nave), period. End of discussion, etc.

Fine, I'm glad your finished anyway, its just I have to go to work, raise some kids, attend thier weddings ect.

I'm really not bothered [at all] if you think having faith makes me naive.

Nah, he's saying that believing belief can do everything is naive.

I believe belief has a power all its own, regardless of what it is belief in, myself. If you truly believe in something, it tends to spread, and you may commit greater actions than you would have normally. That is, of course, for good and evil both. Belief in God led to great good and acts of charity on the one hand, and the Crusades and Inquisition on the other. Great good, but also great evil.

Of course, it's still a power over people, rather than over environment. Even if someone believed the sun wouldn't rise unless they sacrificed to the Aztec Sun God, it wouldn't matter to the sun.

I have a feeling I shouldn't have brought that up...the fall of Jericho sprang to mind the second I typed that.

    Pardon? What do you mean?

EDIT: Not thinking...not thinking...despite the derail in the last couple threads, this is still the "favourite quotes" thread, after all...
