FF1 GBA Hard Type, FF5 SNES Expert Mode, FF6 SNES Hard Type.
To give me a challenge I proceeded to tackle these three games with these mods on them and holy crap it didnt disappoint.
Lemme break it down:
FF1's intro was savage and a true testament of perserverance.
After stumbling several times reaching the first fiend was quite the task but it got worse.
Picture Lich with a set pattern like always and multiply the pain by 10. Earthquake, Thundara and Comet nuff said.
This fight took me several days to complete. Yeah DAYS.
Reaching Marilith proved to be more bearable but damn her physicals where unforgiving.
Kraken was just as bad and multiply the lame by 5.
Tiamat just saying her name makes me rage. All area of effect moves that destroy your party with little to no sympathy or mercy.
At this point I was drained so reaching Chaos was a struggle but somehow...
But then... Picture all you have you have learned thus far with all the patterns and what not then throw all of it out the window.
Completely luck based, amped up version of Tiamat, and finally at #1 auto-regen set to 3000 hp gain!
I had to grind out to about 80 before I even dared thought of killing him.
All in all the luck and brutality won the day for this patch.
9/10 You will cry but there is hope.
FF5 was the only mod on this list that wasnt hard for me personally.
With the improvements like ATB and Job choice the harder difficulty mostly boiled down to was if your not familiar with how to easily overpower most enemies.
Its hardest moments where unsuprisingly at the end so its pretty much smooth sailing for 90% of the game.
7.5/10 Not the hardest ever but still might suprise you.
FF6 like FF1 started off merciless even offering new boss fights in the first area.
After reaching the scenario choice point the difficulty eased up and I was able to power through just about everything until the Floating Continent.
Stumbling on FC was very apparent but after that until I got to Kefka's Tower it was smooth sailing again.
This mod gets kudos points for actually making the characters more unique (although group units shared skills) and was a welcome change.
8/10 It's a bumpy ride but hang on tight and you'll make it.
Layin down enjoying the fun unleashing the power of the sun and capturing them all until I'm done.
