Matrix Infinity change disc probrem

hey guys i have a simple problem i believe but i want to make sure i'm doing the right thing so i want to comfirm this, i changed my ps2 modchip to a matrix infinity but when i try change ps1 discs this won't work, like metal gear solid to disc one to disc two the change is impossible so i want to upgrade my firmware like i see in this thread:

but in the matrix infinity site they have 4 matrix infinity:

so how can i find mine? i'm really scared because some guy told me that if i install the wrong firm this will damage my ps2, so i want any help you guys can give me okay, please help me don't damage my precious ps2 thanks a lot in advance.

under Software, it has a firmware upgrade that allows multiple disc psx games. but make sure its the same one you have first.

i think this is mine but how i make sure its the same i have? just see the functions? or i have to see the chip? i can't open my ps2 because i will lose the warranty

how did you get the chip in without opening it?

i pay for the technician put it in my ps2 so if i open the ps2 i will lose the warranty, but just looking to the functions in the description in the site is not enough? i mean mine can do a AUTOMATIC SELECTION for PS2/PS1/DVD all of then do that or just one? i really don't know how to upgrade i can enter in the Configuration Menu pressing triangle+circle there is nothing there that can point me the right direction?

well, before doing anything. contact the person who did the mod to be sure its the right one. you dont want to mess up your ps2. its a pretty expensive piece of equipment.

he might also be able to give you step by step info on how to upgrade. i dont have a ps2 mod chip, i have swap magic, so i dont know how to do this for sure.

yeah the guy that i made this is a little idiot and he keeps saying that he will not help me with ps1 issues because ps1 games damage the ps2 SO I PLAN not speak with him no more i really want to do a upgrade maybe there's a way to do it without open just seeing what this modchip can do and the others don't

Just make sure you have the authentic MI chip installed. If you have a cheap MI clone installed, firmware upgrade will essentially make your PS2 console useless.

how can i know if mine is authentic? and maybe i can use any Firmware Upgrade because all of the 4 that i enter looks the same page and uses the same firm, there is not a kind of detection in this program that install the firmware? so the program says that i can install it or not
