Default ePSXe and Star Ocean 2

Does anyone know a really good configuration set up for playing Star Ocean: The Second Story ISO? It plays ok but I was wondering if it might be able to play better.

Im using EPSXE 1.5.2 (1.6 didn't work at all) P.E.Op.S. Soft Driver 1.17, Eternal SPU Plugin 1.41, ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.5.2.

My operating system is Windows XP Pentium 4 10024MB RAM 2.3 ghz processor. ATI Radeon X300 series 128MB graphics card.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks

Well, what do you want to improve?
A hardware plugin would enable better looking 3D objects, but since the characters and enemies and the cities are in 2D, this would only affect a few other things. And you'd have to mess with the framebuffer emulation settings to get it working correctly, too. Using Pete's OpenGL2 plugin you can apply texture filters such as 2xSAI, but that eats a lot of video memory, and I haven't really tried it yet, so I don't know how much an improvement would it be. In the case of SNES games, it looks good, so you might still try that.
