    Default The Warriors - AO????

Jack-ass Thompson strikes again...... on a game that isn't even available! I was flipping channels earlier and on G4 they had a new bit on Mr Thompson, and now he's attacking the Warriors, Rockstars new game and has already claimed that it needs to be rated AO, if it is necessary to release the game at all! Are you fucking serious? Apparantly he's claiming this game will inspire organized violence and it will help crime rates rise. I don't believe this guy - he hasn't even seen anything other than a screen shot of this game and he's already kicking it in the balls. Poor Rockstar - I think it's time for them to hire a hitman and take this asshole out. This cocknocker still hasn't gone after God of War which still blows my mind, and dammit - I really hate this man. Not that AO games affect me, or probably almost everyone on this site, but for the love of jesus, can't he just grow the fuck up and chill? What's with this damn righteous crusade of his? He needs to tell that bitch wife of his to take his dick out of the mason jar, reattach it to him and get some porn on. This shit has got to stop. Any thoughts?

You have to understand something, he is a lawyer and attention whore. Lawyers are attracted to money/and attention whores want to be sene all the time. He realizes that targeting violent/adult games is an easy way for him to stay in the spotlight and even earn him more clients for his Law Firm. All I can say is that he better be careful because there are some gamers out there that have serious anger issues and/or on medication. And Thompson could be murdered by one of these people for pushing things too far.

That said, Warriors won't get an AO rating no matter what he does. Seeing as how the game is based of the 80's hit movie (great film by the way) which was rated R, there isn't anything suitable for an AO rating. Rockstar could ruin Thomson if he decided to take the game to court. Seeing as how there are about 40+ PS2 action games that have an M rating and are probably more brutal then The Warriors. Oh I just can't wait until "187-Ride or Die" is released in America. Thompson will cream his pants.

I don't really understand that. Don't adults live in Australia as well? Since they're the only ones that could supposedly get this kind of games, what's the harm in just putting it on the shelves?
Meh. You could still order it online.

I live in Europe and here it's all good. GTA: SA wasn't affected at all by the "Hot Coffee" events. PEGI is SO much better than ESRB. Remember that.

I'm going to look at the upside of this.

If they really get carried away and actually start handing out all the ratings Thompson wants, there's a good chance many stores will start to carry AO games. So Thompson's plans will backfire and make real AO games readily available, makes sense right At which point I may be able to pick up G-Collections stuff from EB
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here

I've seen the movie, and it really isn't even all that violent - especially compared to todays standards - but I bet he'll get away with something just because the whole bit about games being more accessible to kids than an R rated movie. How much more accessible, I couldn't say. Personally I've been watching R rated flicks since I was pretty young and I turned out to be a well adjusted person, so who knows.

"We need to ban these Super Mario games! They, err, promote cruelty to turtles!"

I fucking guarantee it. I think we should all unite and pay to have Jack Thompson encased in a giant Space Invaders arcade machine, useless twat.

Well, if such laws ever come to pass where creative freedom is restricted in videogames in favor of sales volume, then the US officially sucks. So sez me...
