Emulating games on PS1/PSX

Is it possible to emulate older generation console games on the Playstation 1? I know that it can be done with NES, as I've tried it myself. But what about Sega Genesis, Gameboy Color, Mame, Snes, etc.? I remember once seeing a pirated copy of some Pokemon game (for Gameboy) on a Playstation format CD. I also know that Snes roms can be run on PS2, but why not PS1?

One question:

Is SNES emulate able on a psx console ? I downloaded a SNES Emulator for psx ( emule ) but I didn't burned it so I never could use it. Real or fake ?

SNES can barely be run on DreamCast. What makes you think it can be run on PS1? Actually most people thought NES on PS1 was impossible.

Why? Is it just not compatible? Since PS1 has obviously better specs than Snes.

The same reason PC's are just not 100% compatable with lets say PS2 even though most PC's now are way more powerfull than the PS2

Main reason is because it doesn't just use hardware most of the emulation is through software drivers making emulation either slow or just not work at all

There has to be a go between as the hardware is not the same so even if the PSX could emulate something as powerfull as the SNES it doesn't mean it will be able to emulate the SNES itself as the hardware would not be the same to emulate as something else as powerfull
