To play on an emulator you will have to mount the image in Daemon tools. To burn it select the mds, it's like a cue file.

Surely, you can burn a .mds on Alcohol 120%, right? Yeah, you can. It's like DementedLullaby said.

Why do people keep ripping PSX games to mds/mdf? All it does is cause unnecessary problems...

Anyway. you can download Alcohol 120% from here:
    http://trial.alcohol-soft.com/en/download_120.php

Note: It's not freeware, but you can use it for 30 days with no limitations before you have to buy it.

That's true, but I find that they're easier to handle, as they rarely have errors.

Indeed, Im feed up off getting really real games from usenet and finding
out there mdf/mds. I always back up the games i upload into Bin + cue
I think its the simplest form there is.

Personally i find alcohol 120% an excellent burning program.I dont know why people still use clonecd for ripping ps1 games.I admit it that it was a kicking-ass burning program sometime but that time now its gone. Also consider that the .sub file clonecd create its useless if you use the cue file. And the file size gets bigger even if its only some mbs. That is not the best for uploading & downloading games. Also it cannot handle properly all the selfboot dc games. Also not to mention about dvd-burning...And i had huge problems in the past with burning ps1 games with clonecd.I burn them at the slowest speed possible & they dont boot on my modded ps2.Then i try the SAME games with Alcohol 120% and they playing perfectly.

I only use Alcohol 120% (support almost all the burning formats including ccd of course)bypass hard protections & its ultra-stable at least for me.

Yeah i use also nero 6 reloaded especially for cd/dvd complilations & for backup files on my hdd.

Maybe most people they are not familiar yet with Alcohol 120%

    Totally agreed.

Isobuster(if your making images from originals or converting the file type)and Alcohol 120 are the only things you need for burning PSX games.

Why some people don't like mds/mdf files, I don't know...they practically work the same as iso, cue, bin, etc... files do, it's just in a different format. I agree with EvilRyu... Alcohol 120% is very stable and is by far one of the best programs for burning psx games. I guess it's just what people are biased to.

Nobody has realised yet, that Alcohol 120% can rip and burn PS1 and PS2 games perfectly. Not only does it support burning (.iso) (.bin .cue) (.ccd .img .sub), it can bypass protections on games, and has a very interesting feature called Disc Measurement. (It reads the physical makeup of a disc, so you can make working backups of PC games and you won't need a NO-CD crack to play. But you will need Alcohol installed to run the RMPS emulation.)

Most poeple don't even know that mdf/mds files are created by Alcohol, it's its own proprietary format.

It's not a big problem to grab the full version patcher for Alcohol. I recommend Alcohol to anyone that downloads, trades, & burns playstation 1 & 2 games.
