Greenday - Wake Me Up When September Ends (Video)

Hey guys. I'm sure most of you have heard of GreenDay, and their new video premiered last night. It's called "Wake Me Up When September Ends." Who saw that video? I thought it had to be one of the greatest videos I've seen in a long time if not; ever. Anyone else see it?

Meh, I haven't seen th Video since I don't watch music television, but I must say that the song is overrated. It's one of the, eh, "least good" tracks on American Idiot.

Anyway, I saw the video a couple weeks back, and didn't think it was overlly good...

I remember the video for Walking Contradiction being pretty good, but I can't remember it too clearly. I think it showed the band walking around town and all sorts of crazy stuff would go on while they were passing by.

I actually really like American Idiot and don't understand why people are being so hard on it. With the possible exception of Warning, you can't really compare it to their other albums since their style has changed dramatically over the past five years or so. Remember when Face to Face released Ignorance is Bliss? That's one of my all-time favourite albums but everybody always ignores it because they suddenly shifted styles from skate punk to hard rock. It's a similar situation with American Idiot. It's a great album and needs to be looked at in a different way to the rest of Green Day's releases if you wish to fully appreciate it. I have a feeling that in years to come it'll be looked back upon as a classic.

That said, 1039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours for the win.

Fleh, American Idiot is probably my favourite all-time Green Day album. It don't like that it is like that, seeing how much it's played on MTV and shit but I can't help it :/. The reason why I, and most people like it better than most of their old albums is because pretty much every song is good. I love Insomniac, I love Nimrod and I love Dookie, but there were several songs that were much too bland and too boring for my taste on those albums.

That's very true actually. Although I suppose every track on a concept album has to be good so you don't skip half of them. Even so, I listened to the album the whole way through again this afternoon and I'm still surprised at how well each song flows to the next.

There's also talk of Jesus of Suburbia being released as fifth single. As long as they don't cut or edit the song I reckon it'll be pretty cool. Let's face it, a 10 minute video is virtually guaranteed to piss off your average MTV viewer.
