I used to hate this one cause everyone stated it wrong.
Eventually, I found this version and figured it out.

Think of words ending in -GRY. Angry and hungry are two of them. There are only three words in the English language. What is the third word? The word is something that everyone uses every day. If you have listened carefully, I have already told you what it is.

What the hell, here's one more.

At the age of 20, the butcher weighs 220 lbs.
At the age of 30, the butcher weighs 290 lbs.
At the age of 40, the butcher weighs 380 lbs.
At the age of 50, what does the butcher weigh?

    To Sniperman:
    1. Language.
    2. Meat.

Well, since I didn't stop in this thread for a bit, I'll give another seven, as I did last. These shouldn't be too tough.

    1.
    Little Nancy Netticoat
    In a white petticoat
    and a red nose,
    The longer she stands,
    the shorter she grows.

    2.
    Throw the outside,
    Cook the inside,
    Eat the outside,
    Throw the inside.
    what is it?

    3.
Marble walls as white as milk,
lined with skin as soft as silk,
    with a fountain, crystal clear,
    a golden apple doth appear.
There are no doors to this stronghold,
yet thieves break in and steal the gold.

    4.
Two sisters are we, one dark and one fair.
In twin towers dwelling, we're quite the pair.
One from the land, and one from the sea.
Tell us truly, who are we?

    5.
A harvest sown and reaped on the same day
    In an unplowed field,
    Which increases without growing,
Remains whole though it is eaten
    Within and without,
    Is useless and yet
    The staple of nations.

    6.
    He has married many women,
    but has never been married.
    Who is he?

    7.
I am something people count on,
But I'm not your fingers or toes.
I am the comfort in your heart,
When your mind's not sure it knows.
    People often call me blind,
For I have no eyes to see.
Several times I have been lost,
But I cannot be given away.
    What am I?

    7. Hope. Knew the answer straight away

Could 4. Be the sun and the moon. Supposing from the sea means the moon's affect on the tides?

Nope, to either. Hope's a bit further away than love was. And, for riddle six, from land and sea is literal.

Actually, it just occurred to me. 7 is a bit related to one of the above six, if only tangentally. I don't want to say which, because the answer to that riddle will make the answer to seven a bit obvious if you know they're linked.

Skinner had 7. That leaves 1, 4, and 5 unanswered.

Are you sure. Faith can be given, in fact in a lot of cases it is. If that is indeed the answer, is the riddle correct?

Yes. Faith can't be literally transferred, any more than your answers could be. Of course, with linguistic patterns as they are, you can give hope to others, give your trust to someone else (trust in them), give of your love to a person, but usually it's restoring faith...isn't it?

If it was a restoration of faith that would assume There was faith in the first place but it was lost. I was given my faith by those I have a blind trust of. My friends. And truly my faith in God is great.

    A candle

    Here's another
They call me a man, but I'll never have a wife.
I was given a body, but not a life.
They made me a mouth, but didn't give me breath.
Water gives me life, but the sun brings me death
    What Am I?

Edit: Gods, I'm an idiot for forgetting this one!
