What are some good, ahem nes games to play?

mainly Im looking for strange games, great rpgs that I probably havent heard of, and possibly translated japanese ones :p

Also on a side note, I played a strange r..game once, you where a chef fighting a bunch of food items, and the first boss was I think a tin of popcorn. What would the name of this strange game. Also another side note, any more food related games? How about for other systems?
