    Default Vasteel (PC Engine) Problems

    I get this game from YSI but i have a problem, I downloaded the game extract the files, transform the mp3 in wav, and mount the cue in daemon tools so i use magic engine 099beta5 and v0.98 and yame but the problem still there, the intro is all messed up the voices some times don't play when play they don't have sync with what is show in the intro, so if anyone can help please help me out i think it's beacause is a iso+mp3 game so if anyone know where i can find a bin/cue please tell me if not it's ok, i just see this game in YSI while i downloading Snatcher so i tried, and liked and wish i can play it any help is good and thanks in advance

    Well, have you tried enabling analog audio in the Daemon tools options? Also, you can make a bin+cue file of this game yourself using Alcohol 120% or ISOBuster. With Alcohol, just mount the image first, then use the Image Making Wizard option, and select the CDRWin image output type.

    yeah the analog audio is always enabled i will try do a bin/cue from this that i have thanks

    no change i did a bin/cue from this i have and nothing so i think maybe the original iso+mp3 have problems so the problem is the iso and do a bin/cue don't fix this erros maybe are the mp3 that are bad riped don't know

    I scanned with cd mage and it found 150 high severe erros so maybe there's no way to fix this

    i think i find the real problem most of the PC Engine games have problems with the audio because the cue sheets are all wrong i take a look in this site:

    http://rigg.arrowsmash.com/aki/overview.html

    but i'm not very good with this things but i love the PC Engine games so if anyone that like this games and know how help and see this please help me ok thanks

    yeah i already do that hehehe i will be more happy when the game works if not i'm still happy thanks a lot hehehehe

    no good i get the cue that came with the iso and copy paste the cue that you display in here and saved but when i try to mount in the Daemon it give me a error did you get from the site and edit it? in the end the FILE Track32.iso BINARY is it correct? i have a wav file in here like this FILE Track32.wav WAVE anyway i download the cue from the site and the voice in the intro is with no voice and i can't go to the game because the game freeze

    I just don't get it before i can run the game but the sync is bad now the game doesn't work with a new cue and same if i use the old cue i think the cue is good maybe is something with my pc or i did something wrong just to test while i'm trying to get Vasteel working i get another game R-Type Complete and for test too i burn in a cd so the game got the voice out of sync too but now that the Vasteel is not working i tested R-Type and the game work perfectly the same game that i burn and don't work some time before that is really strange i do something wrong what a mess

    I didn't edit the cue at all, it's all there just like it was on the site. Are all your files named accordingly? Also you could edit each of the FILE lines to match what is on your hard drive. You might also need the System 3 BIOS, get it here: http://www.planetemu.net/index.php?s...owrom&id=81312

    Unzip it and plop it in the Magic Engine main directory on your hard drive and config the PCE.ini so that it points to it. It will be near the bottom of the file in a section which looks like this, assuming you're using the 0.99 Beta 5 version:

    # ----
    # path settings
    # ----

    [path]

    ;
    ; system card paths
    ; --
    ;

    system_card_1=CD-ROM System V1.00 (J).pce
    system_card_2=CD-ROM System V2.01 (U).pce
    system_card_3=Super CD-ROM2 System V3.00 (J).pce<---------right here
    system_card_4=Games Express CD Card 1993 (J).pce

    In the Boot Menu of Magic Engine select the System card 3 bios option to run the game.
    If that doesn't work then I dunno what is wrong. You might have to ask the individual who uploaded about what might be wrong at that point.

    thanks put this System 3 BIOS in magic engine help to resolve the freeze thing that didn't allow me to play the game and i know what are messing up the intro it's daemon i burn Vasteel with fireburner and run from the cd the game works perfectely and with the same iso mounted in daemon tools the game work but with the voices messed up the music in the main menu keep playing but it is supposed to stop when a press start so the intro could play normally even when i close the magic engine the music keeps playing so i don't know is there a other tool to mount image or a config in magic engine that fix this? and thanks a lot for all your help

    Well, Alcohol 120% and the latest Nero will mount images as well, but I don't think that they work too well with the PC Engine CD games. But if you managed to get the game to run perfectly from a CD burned using Fireburner then I guess you'll have to stick to using that then. I browsed the Magic Engine forums and I didn't see anything related to a sound issue with this game, just the problem with it freezing. That's where I figured out you had to get the System BIOS 3 to make it stop freezing. I wish I could do more for this, but unfortunately I am all out of ideas.
