Completely missed this post somehow. I don't think I've listened to Venom before, heard of them though.

they are one of the starting bands of the Black Metal genre, they have more of like a thrash/black metal sound, but that is how black metal started. Great band, first 3 albums are very good, and IMO the rest are just as good. I am a big Venom fan.

If you mix Accept, AC/DC, and maybe a little Judas Priest is this what you get? A band from 2001 sounds like this?!?! Holy shit, this is the first time I have heard of these guys, and they are awesome

    Soundwave in 3 weeks.

Not such a good lineup as last yeah (though, really, how is it possible to go up from Iron Maiden and Slayer headlining?) but still pretty good. And I'll still get my yearly chance to brawl in the pit.

I'll answer this rhetorical question, there is nowhere to go but down.

I personally LOVE oldschool metal. I grew up in the 80's and I still listen to Dio, Def leppard etc. I don't really listen to new music unless it grabs me. But Maximum the hormone is good, they did the opening and ending music for Death Note. The songs names are What's up people, and zetsubou billy.

Love Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden, best 2 bands on the planet in my opinion.

Was gutted to hear that Bill won't be playing with Sabbath when they start touring again. Hope he changes his mind.

My copy of the new Timeghoul discography CD came in today. Along with a half-dozen others.

    Fuck yeah.

Seeing Iron Maiden in Chicago on July 5th. Paid for the tickets, and it came to about $400. Still worth the trip.
